Need help with my aeroponic design

Im having trouble figuring out how to recollect the water in the res after its moved through the system. my problem is that the system uses air pressure to move the atomized water throughout the root chamber so i cant have an airtight res or the air just wont move but i imagine that if there were any kind of air outlet the atomized water wouldnt collect it would just continue to pass through the res and out of the outlet. anybody have any ideas? im assuming that since the water isnt really steam trying to condense it by cooling it down wont have any effect

yea. the air pressure is crucial to the design tho. i dunno. im thinkin maybe if i freeze it quickly it might would fall like snow or sleet but honestly i dunno if recollecting the water is even gonna b worth it. might just run it outside. seems like a waste but maybe i can use it to feed some vegetables in a garden or something. i think right now i need to build it, run it, and see how much its gonna b using n if its worth saving

But why is the air pressure so crucial?? Lots of proven designs out there and mine is so simple and reliable the original pumps are still doing great after 4 years of constant use.

just tryin something different. well several somethings really. i dont really wanna go into too much detail but im ultimately trying to put together a DIY that encompasses what growers want from a personal setup. something ur average joe could build that would produce superior quality. the recollection of nutrients/water is my only hang up so far. if i may ask about how long does it take for the atomized water to settle just standing in ur setup

The mist shouldnt be hanging around for more than 3 minutes. I guess you`re using ultrasonic fog as its the only one i can think of that needs air pressure to move it from A to B.

lol no. ultrasonic foggers dont produce big enough water droplets to support adult plants. around 5 microns. adult plants most readily absorb water droplets around 50 microns. not to mention the heat they produce in the res. i do have a setup that uses one but its only for germination and has nothing to do with this design. works ok. just a little too warm

If your using air atomising nozzles and an air compressor you should run drain to waste. Collect the small amount of run-off from the root chamber in a container and use it on your veggie garden.
