I was letting them come through the rockwool with CFLS, how long should i let the seedlings go before i add the 600 hps?? i will be running 18/6 for veg. pumps airators will run all the time.
This is a great post, I will be starting a 20-site aeroponics set up next month and this post has already helped me out a lot...posbt as many pics as you can if you don't mind Tree??. Gluck w/ all. I will be growing Big Bang in my first try at aero...well my first try at growing at all haha.
No offense but make sure you have a really good understanding of aeroponics b4 u start building since its ur first grow. aeroponics is probly the hardest method of growing and takes a watchful eye and maintenance. also dont use organics in your aeroponics cause it tends to clog misters from my understanding. I am growing WW right now but i have some Big Bang on the way for next cycle. Let us know how it comes along for ya! all the best and smoke on!
Thanks BillyBob but I am not building, I am buying already setup Aeroflo2 from GH. I am making it my number one priority during my days to watch it almost 24/7, I think I will be obsessed soon as I start. Gluck with your WW.
be obbsessed about getting your numbers on and keeping them there. if you go to tinkering with it too much you will find you have many more problems than just getting it right and leaving it alone! haha
im hearing it may be harmful to run water pumps and air stones 24/7?????? Everyone running seperate times for lights and one for pumps? I thought keep the nutes following all the time would be better...any help?
Not sure who is saying its harmful to run them 24/7 but they would be wrong. Run the misters and air stones in the res 24/7 unless you wanna use a real exspensive cycle timer with 1 minute intevals then you can do whaat some say is better which is on 15 minutes then off 2 minutes repeated everyday all day.Not need though.Actually I find aero to be one of the easiest ways to grow.Easier then soil for sure and maybe easier then flood and drains since you have to drip line new plants in those setups til roots form.My gallery as some pictures of the big version of these kind of setups I build and use. The main differece is In my units I use actual misters and in those can you have they drill small holes in a tubing inside to allow water spray so its more of a NTF system then an aerosetup..These pictures were at day 15 in the setups I build and use under 2 600 watt digital ballast. They should have been shorter and bushier but I didnt use co2 that round
thats right. just check ur ph once or twice a day. make sure its right. and check ur ppm at most once or twice a day also. once u have it set it shouldnt flux to much if you keep a good eye on it. since your aero just check ur misters and make sure they arent clogged everyday. considering this its not really a very hard job u just gotta stay on top of things. like everything in life.
i have a fletch. i see how u have it setup. and thats a pretty nice deal for nft. you dont have any rootbounding problem in that setup with large flowering plants?
havent yet. whats NFT stand for..haha sorry... man you got it going on in that one but looks like you need a bigger res??? I pupped mine out on the side to add on in the next grow. so hopefully when i add on it will look like that. and already have an extra 40 gal res tank waiting....just wanted to get the grasp with 10 plants first... i see alot of money in all that green you got there fletch!! haha
my stabs at NFT
Natural Flowing T..... nevermind. smoking another
Nutrient Film Techinique- from what i know. you set up kinda a gutter sytem. not projects gutter. but like fletch has. u have tubes set up on an angle and nutrients are pumped from the res up to the top of the tubes and flows down over the roots of the plants that are hanging down inside of the tube. and the back into the res. sometime capiillary mats or something like htat is used in the bottom of the tubes to aide in root "clinging".
Yeah that system there is an aero ponic system that gets extra nutes via the NFT drainage flow. I have 7 misters inside each post running on a 1/2 inch line of capped pvc.One end is ona 2 inch higher support then the extra mist gathers and makes a running river to the lower end by the res drains which flows out each drain into the res and is then circulated again. In that setup 28 misters going 24/7. The res is a 50 gallon res that I keep between 35-40 gallons in and then outside the room is a 55 gallon barel of ph balanced water with a smal mini pump I just take the hose from the barel over to my system res turn it on and pump new water right into my res fil line and then adjust.I dont have any issues with root binding in these setups. I get long mats of roots that float in the run off stream typlically 6-8 feet in length.
