Is it an auto, or a plant getting 12 hours of darkness each day? You really didn't provide any information...

To be honest I really don't know what it is a friend gave it to me and I thought it was budding prematurely for some reason and was wondering what I can do it smell real danky I don't even know what kind it is

Well, if you know nothing about the plant at this stage I would finish it out or start another. You already have a small yielding plant in flower, and if it happens to be an auto any efforts at revegging it for a larger plant are untenable. Maybe ask your friend what it is?
