need help

i have 1 plant with a 150,2700 lumen CFL bulb, everybody tells me i need to grow with a 6500k light.What does 6500k mean,and do i really need that or am i good.

6500k is the color temperature of the bulb. It's a bluish white, and 2700k is a reddish orange. 6500k is best for vegging, and 2700k is best for flowering.

I've done my last 2 grows under all 2700k cfls. except for 4-40w grolux tubes I use for sidelighting. Works great for me so far. I didn't want to have to spend the extra money. I can get 42w 2700k for 4.97 ea.

What I seem to get are extremely bushy plants with small distance between nodes. I top just above the 4th node at about day 21 to give it 8 main stems and veg 45 days total. At the end of that time they are between 12"-18" tall. They also make very heavy bud that fill all the stems.
