For first time I'd suggest pots and soil / soilless mix. Along with that get a small to medium HPS lamp 250 watt or 400 watt. Plus a small humidifier for vegging, a fan for air movement, and last but not least a timer. You can do a small grow with that, and the heat shouldn't be too bad. Not a bad idea to get some flouros for lighting seedlings, I only use a double bulb 40 watts each shop light. Plus you will want some basic food for them, what kind depends on if you wanna go organic or use chemical.

i dont understand how one can grow in a PC ? my plant would NEVER fit in there...my lights would never fit in there either.

Well you buy smaller lights and you grow smaller plants.. And don't forget, some pc cases can be pretty damned large. I'm sure you can get multiple ounce harvests out of them. if done really well..

I don't know. They are convenient, they are a justified source of noise such as fans, they are stealthy, they readily available for a few pounds if not free, noone is going to walk into you room and curious decide they want to look in your computer like they might a wardrobe or closet, it produces bud. Not everyone has a license or a big spare room or even a spare cupboard, not everyone has the privacy they'd ideally like. I mean hell, look at me and my big 600w hydroponic cupboard, result of that is unless they're gonna still be drunk and unconcious at about 8am then no girls stay in my bed overnight

i see your point, but if your gonna grow in a pc box you'd have to get yourself a strain that grow really really short, and set it to 12/12 right away if it aint a autoflowering kind. plus, with a small bulb it takes forever to even grow a tree right?
i see pro's, but i see even more con's.

You just need to train the plant and well, have a plan on how you want it growing. It's perfectly possbile to do perfectly well.
There are people on these forums who have spoken of smoking just an 8th a month kind of thing, it would be ideal, similar principal to growing with the aerogardens, they're small and give a smaller yield, but not everyone needs an entire cupboard with hps and such, although certainly, if you can get away with it, do it!

They flower them from seed, and use fem seeds, the fan is all intact, so the ventilation is present. The lights mount on the top of the pc case, and I imagine everything is ran from the power supply on the comp. I have seem some neat little grows like that on here. Not my cup of tea, but it's pretty inconspicuous. The best one I saw, he had them at different stages, he took one out, put one in. You don't get much off each plant, but the next one is ready to harvest in another 2 weeks. He got like 14 grams off each plant. Was like a conveyor belt, one finishes and harvests, next one in, with the other 2.
