ok so i have a new 400watt cooltube and want to make it a 1000watt what all do i have to get just a 1000watt ball and light or do i need more?

there should be a maximum wattage rating printed somewhere around the base.... if it's able to handle 1100 or more it's good to go!

Also, aren't most 400 watters 6" and 1000 waters 8"?

ah.... I get what you're saying, well I suppose you would have to get some serious airflow to keep from cracking the glass with a 1000watt.

Also I don't know if a 1000 watt bulb will fit in a 6" tube. It would be tight and hot if you did.
