Here's 4 plants I have goi G under a Mars Hydro 600 in a 2x2. It does the trick. Full disclosure I "won" the light in one of the giveaways here.
I also own a couple Spider Farmers and a couple HLGs. The MarsHydro definitely feels the cheapest. For the cost difference I would probably buy one of these if your only vegging:

If your gonna flower ever in that tent though the spectrum on the HLG isn't ideal.
None of the cheap lights will perform as well or last as long as the HLG though. The SFs and MarsHydro will definitely grow plants though. I'd avoid those super cheap LEDs from the off brand labels at all costs though. They're cheap for a reason.
