Need some advice about "topping"

I need some advice! I've just switched over my plants to 12/12 (yesterday) and in typical super noob style I just realised that I'm going to run out of space if i leave the plants as they are! Since I've never topped a plant before I want to check with you all before i cut it...

Should I ...

a) Top it where shown in the picture?
b) Don't top it, but try to bend it over instead?
c) Top it where shown, AND bend it over?

I know it sounds like a silly question, but I'm really not sure if its ok to top this plant once it's in its 12/12 light cycle?

Oh.. I should also mention that these plants were REALLY bushy so yesterday I trimmed off many of the fan leaves to increase light levels. Will topping it now be too stressful for the plant?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

I'd say just pull the top over with some yarn, but I don't think topping it now would hurt too much, either. I just had to LST my biggest girl, already 2.5 weeks into flower, and she's doing fine even after i bent the shit out of her.
