Need some Advice on my med Grow

I got this afghan kush x white widow at 13 weeks into veg i been feeding her maxi gro and liquid karma i fed her liquid karma about 5 days ago and now the soil has dried out what do you guys recomend me do mix some maxigro in the 1 galon and feed her that again or should i just go with plain distilled water and then once that dries out feed her maxi go???hope you guys understand my question

she looks pretty lush and healthy. I would say you could use straight h20 between feedings.

When feeding a plant in soil, you are not feeding the plant, you are feeding the soil. The plant then *takes* what nutirents and minerals it needs from the soil. That's why you do not feed every watering, but alternate between water and then next time nutrients. If you feed too often, or too much at once, you risk nute burn and worse, nutrient lock out. I agree mith MacG for the most part, with the exception that the roots will feed directly from the fertilizer if it is mixed with the water, fert also gets mixed into the soil and the microbes will continue to feed off that and feed the plant in return. but the roots themselves will always look for an easier pathway to absorbtion of what is needed as it takes less energy (after all, this is all that Hydroponics really does is avoid the soil component).

fertilizing though, there are many considerations for 'timing' - mostly to do with healthy plant size and not over ferting. that one looks like it is N overdosed to me, i'd ween off the fert for 2 waterings, and the first one being a flush of 2x the soilmass to leach out any salt buildup in the soil (before it becomes a detriment to the plants' health)

Hey EC, are there really negative effects to the plant being that dark or are you just being preventative in that it may be "riding the wave" between max N and too much N? Or is it that it's just too much N for flowering? Or something else entirely...?

too much N increases susceptibility to insects and disease. the stalks will also become brittle and break easier from lack of flexibility. *source:Marijuana Garden Saver by JC Stitch and Ed Rosenthal (i highly recommend that no garden go without this valuable resource)

excess levels of N in harvested plants cause the dried marijuana to burn poorly. i could source several more books, but they all say they same thing. to me she (above) looks like mid-late stage OD, but without being there no one can say for sure.

Thanks, I've been using that deep, lush green as my "more" or "less" gauge in regards to PPM; very good to know that I'm courting disaster.
