Need some advice!

Hey, everyone! I'm happy to be here :)

I just started a grow about 4 days ago and have a bunch of questions. I'm a first-time grower and am confused by all the information out there; please help me out! I'm hard-working and don't mind doing my own footwork, but I need some basic help and directions.

I have the following set up. 2. ft x2.5 ft x4. ft grow closet with 250W light, with foil-type material covering the inside, good internal carbon filter and ventilation, 6 1-gallon hydro buckets.

Germinated 6 seeds (3 Northern Lights, 3 Power Plant), planted them into my substrate of choice, all have since broken earth. I damaged the roots on 2 seedlings when re-planting them so I'm germinating 3 more right now just in case those plants die.

Anyway, here are the questions.

1. I was planning to grow in a SOG set-up; 6 small plants harvested early. But from what I understand now, 4 ft of space allows for any type of grow that I want. Can I grow 6 regular-sized plants with my setup? If I do, should I be concerned about trimming the leaves to ensure good ventilation and lighting for all the plants?
2. Is it even OK to do SOG with seeds?
3. There are no leaves yet, the plants broke earth recently, is it OK that I'm keeping them in 18-6 lighting conditions? I'm concerned I might fry the plants.
4. I don't have the additional space necessary to keep a mother in veg conditions in the future. Is there any way to clone without a separate space for the mother?
5. Any further tips on how I can get maximum yield in the minimum amount of time (thinking 2.5-3 months)?

Thanks for your help, everyone.

1. I was planning to grow in a SOG set-up; 6 small plants harvested early. But from what I understand now, 4 ft of space allows for any type of grow that I want. Can I grow 6 regular-sized plants with my setup? 6 is way too much for regular grow with that size footprint. 1 decent sized plant would fill that space (SOG will be fine, prob get 9). If I do, should I be concerned about trimming the leaves to ensure good ventilation and lighting for all the plants?

2. Is it even OK to do SOG with seeds?
Yes you can SOG from seed but not advised as nutes need to be slowly increased, clones can be fed more and sooner.

3. There are no leaves yet, the plants broke earth recently, is it OK that I'm keeping them in 18-6 lighting conditions? I'm concerned I might fry the plants.
Back the light right up for a week, until they get going properly. ya can go 24/0 if you want.

4. I don't have the additional space necessary to keep a mother in veg conditions in the future. Is there any way to clone without a separate space for the mother? No veg light schedule, no clones. Ya could veg very slow in a cardboard box with small cfl.

5. Any further tips on how I can get maximum yield in the minimum amount of time (thinking 2.5-3 months)? Get a quick flower (8 weeks) like Lemon, not sure what yours do. Single, transplant straight to 1.5L pot from seedling . Use a good root juice like Rhitotonic. Superthrive every feed. single dose of Nitrogen mono once plant established. A good bloom boost. Dose of PK 3 weeks from harvest. Half dose calmag each feed.

Keep an eye on PH and PPM. Keep ya temps and humidity optimum. Don't over feed, learn how and when to water.

Follow that and you will get at least........... who knows!!!!

Thanks a lot, MrMeanGreen!

If I decide to go with 1-2 plants, will I need bigger buckets?

Also one other thing: I made a typo initially. I don't have "4 ft of space," I have 5 sq meters and 4 feet height..

I would say to stick with SOG only having 4ft clearance which will be less with your lights in there. You are really gonna struggle with that height and a regular grow.

Still gonna be tricky with 4ft. Tricky but doable.

If ya going regular grow and low wottage, 2 is pretty much ya limit. can't advise on bucket size, I like my soil.

Good luck dude.
