Need Some Help Asap

Ok recently recently had gone to Home Depot I have a total of 6 clamp lamps and they all have the socket splitter so I can connect two lights 2 to one clamp lamp so just recently I bought 2 packs of Four 23 watt daylight and soft white cfl lights the lamp said it can hold 150 Watts the guy at Home Depot told me that I can only fit 2 60watts in one lamp. So I was wondering is he lying to be a douche. Or will 2 23watts fit inside fine. I also want to know that if this is too much light for 2 plants I have 1 300 watt CFL and 6 23 watt cfls in diffrent clamp lamps btw the maximum on my big light is 300 watts. Then the other lamps are like up to 150 watts is this fine for two plants?

You may very well get some help here in the newbie section from a nice CFL grower, but if not you might try again at the CFL portion of the site found at (http://rollitup.org/f/cfl-fluorescent-lighting.75/)

Hope someone here is able to help though. Id chime in, but I dont want to give you bad info and start a fire or something in your house >.< lol. good luck!

Hey dude. What you have isn't too much if that's what you're asking. Just make sure you control the temperature if it gets too hot and keep the lights as close to the plants as possible. Now obviously if you add more lights, your ladies will love you more and reward you more!
If the light says it handles max 150w, that's the hardware (wire plug etc) can handle up to that much wattage before things start to overheat melt or burn! If the guy said it takes 2x 60w, he's close to being right giving the next size up is an 85w (and 2x that is 170 watts). Your 2x 23w lights add up to 46 (actual) watts and that's still very safe in those clamps. I really hope I understood you correctly and that this answers your questions!
Happy growin bro!

Those clamp-on reflectors are rated for 150w or more. You're fine with a couple 23w CFLs.

However, I think you made a mistake buying CFLs. You could have bought Cree LED "lightbulbs." They produce more light for less watts, run cooler, and have a 10-year warranty. See my write up here. You'll get some ideas about hanging your CFLs, at least.

The only reason I can think of to buy CFL nowadays is if the heat is needed in a cold climate, or can't afford the $5-$10 more per bulb. They're about 40% more efficient, producing 90-100 lumens per watt compared to CFL's 65.
