First off, hello everybody.

I planted my first seed a couple of days ago and it has just sprouted. I don't have high hopes for this guy, as I am sure to fuck up on my first attempt but I hope to learn as much as I can. I searched the internet for weeks and have been talking to a few buddies of mine who all seem to have there two cents about how I should grow this plant of mine. Everyone is telling me conflicting things about lighting, mediums, and so on... Is there just some place I can read about the process instead of getting steps from someone? I want to figure this stuff out for myself through a little reading a some trial and error.

i know, I have read that. It's pretty much a collection of idea's of how to grow the best weed. Thats not what I'm looking for. I am looking for something long and in depth about the process of growing weed. I want to know what happening when I put in this "nute" or that "nute"... scientific facts not just a bunch of opinions

First off, they are facts... Second if you don't like the facts and info you can get off this site then do a google search!
Not trying to be rude, but the people here don't like being told their facts are opinion. Peace

good idea on the Google search...
I searched the internet for weeks....
I wish I would have thought of that idea first.

Not to be rude but if people on here think any facts are theirs then they are mistaken.

Look man I am just trying to learn for myself instead of having people tell me what lights to use, what soil to plant in, when to do this and when to do that. I want to hoping on some direction towards maybe a lengthy article that was less suggestive and more informative. Maybe some place where people are not as rude as as you and don't wear "their" facts like a fucking badge... flashing them on every thread.

The easiest and pretty efficient way that I have used in the past and still do is some grows is this. I will try and give you a brief summary for just your 1 seed you have planted (although you should plant more because you will be really pissed if you go a long way and it happens to be male!).

1. Start off in a medium sized pot for right after germinating. Use Starting Soil (Jiffy's as always is recommended, but any will do). You should have at least 2 CFLs on one plant (brightest you can get). Leave this plant in the starting soil for a month.
2. After a month transplant your baby into some 3 month slow releasing nute soil into a larger size pot (3 gal minimum, 5 gal recommended). I use Miracle Grow's potting soil and it does the trick! It is here where your plant will stay until the end of flowering.
3. Try and add as many lights as you can to your grow! The more light the better! Good reflective material like mylar or a white surface are the best.

TIPS THROUGHOUT GROWING:
1. Only water when soil looks or feels dry.
2. Mist as often as possible. I do about 2-3 times a day.
3. Have good drainage holes at the bottom of the pot.
4. Make sure heat is not a factor in your grow room. Have good ventilation.
5. Flower around 12 inches (switch timer to 12/12 lighting hours). You can technically flower whenever you want, but when you do your plants will most likely double and maybe triple in size!
6. Be PATIENT!!!! You are probably going to want to check out your plant as much as possible and it will feel like the plants are taking forever to grow. Let nature run its course and all will be good! The plant (if female) will take anywhere from 7-12 weeks (mostly 8 weeks) to finishing maturing. This is why I like the 3 month soil as it will due for the time period that you need it.

Maybe after a few tries and you feel confident about growing, start manually adding nutrients and expanding your horizons on growing. Move on to a Metal Halide/High Pressure Sodium bulb if you feel comfortable. Keep on researching and asking questions about what you need to do to accomplish your goal. The GROW FAQs and NEWBIE CENTRAL are a great place to go. If you do happen to need any extra info and feel dumb about asking on the forum, feel free to Private Message me. I will help you out as best I can. Anyway, good luck on your grow!

LOL that may be true Mr. Issues, but I will not turn the other way on any new growers. They will learn eventually that we are just trying to help as best we can. He is probably just anxious to start his grow and getting impatient. You are correct and he should take a more polite way of stating what he needs, but hopefully this topic will help other new growers. We don't need any more people getting pissed and acting poorly on the forums. LOL, just my 2 cents!!
