Need suggestions for more efficient watering.

Hey all,

Using soil in 3g buckets in a 4x4 pot area. Currently filling and ph'ing in a 5g bucket. Then pouring into a 32oz bottle to water each plant (easiest way so far), add 64oz to each pot, then add another 32oz to reach run off. Then empty each drain tray 1-2 times to remove standing water.

Is there some kind of watering system that would meter flow and shut off at the set amount? The meters I've come across seem to just be for large volume (yard/large gardens). I will still need to be able to move the pots around the area.

Thanks.

When I used to do soil I would make a batch of water in water cooler jugs (about 15L or 4g) and raise it above the height of my pots/plants...outside tent...then use gravity with a hose...fill each pot/plant to desired level needed...plug with thumb or kink the hose when moving from plant to plant... repeat when/if needed.
Not sure why you'd want to meter the amount...it changes from plant to plant and from day to day.
