neem oil

I have a week old auto seedling in a solo cup I put a layer of fresh soil on top and I noticed a little white bug on it I tried to grab it but it went in the soil before I could i'm guessing its an arcade I also pulled out a egg too. I was planning on using neem oil to get that little bastard before he reproduces. Does anyone know the best way to apply the oil? I havent seen any bugs on the plant itself so I was wondering would it be okay to just apply the oil to the soil and not the sedling to avoid clogging the poors? Thak you in advanced to anyone that can help.

yes you can spray the soil with a neem solution, and the plant too if you want.

just make sure the lights are off when you do it, and leave them off for a few hours until the neem oil dries.

always good to spray as a preventive every once in a while.

I already sprayed the leaves and I watered the soil with the mixture the leaves dried quick then got a fan on the plant to dry up the soil so I can water it with regular drinking water. I left the lights on cause I read the cooler the temp the more likley it'll start clotting in the pours. Gonna do that a couple more times every 3-4 days 2 more times and see how it turns out.

Don't make this complicated. You can use neem oil with your nutes while watering or spray them. Look up the bottle directions. You will be fine.

Not using nuts not gonna use nutrients till plants 2 weekes and your not supposed to use the bottle instructions it'll kill ur plants, supposed to use less oil and add soap.

Ok! I use Neem oil often myself with no problems. I only use them when I need them not every time. I spray them once every 2 weeks in Veg. Mixture of water and neem oil poured in the soil once and that is pretty much it. If you follow the nutrients bottle then yeah, that will kill your plants. Neem oil is different and not meant to be used every time. I mix 1/2 tsp of neem oil an gallon of water. Again this is only when I need it or as preventative

Just use half the neem directed. The amount directed will clog stomata and cause stress. You were right about not spraying néem during lights off. The best time to spray is right after lights come on.

Get some neem meal / cake and crab meal and top dress on your soil. Aside from nutes they both are pest inhibitors as well. Neem has azadiractin and crab meal has chitin. Both deter pests and trigger the plants auto immune system.

Also Topdress worm castings. The microbes, enzymes, and chitin in that will deter pests as well.

As long as you have a healthy living soil and stable genetics you will never have pests. Even with outdoor.
