Neighbor Snagged Plant- Need Advice

Ok check this out. Me, being the idiot that I am, decide that I am going to put a single potted plant out in my backyard for a nice long day of uninterupted-much needed sunlight. The plant is of great sentimental value to me as it belonged to my recently departed Dad. It was two days-at most- away from final harvest. I was planning on sharing the smoke with Dad's friends at a Memorial for him in a month or so. Didn't really expect too much out of the smoke as it was bagseed (Dad didn't believe in buying seeds) but the early trials suggest it is definitely worth the babying I have given it! Anyhow, I never take it out of my screened in and SECURED porch but it was stunting due to Winter time- shadow-interupted light. I figured two days total sunlight and it was ready. I went to the store for a couple of hours and left it out in the yard. You can figure out how this one ends- GONE!!! My fault- I know- for being stupid BUT I know my next door neighbor did it. My question is now what? I only have three other indoor plants in the works with a minor CFL setup. Should I assume that my neighbor just wants the weed and not worry about it or should I scrap what I am doing to avoid hassles? Advice is appreciated. Sorry about the long-winded thread.

Damn man that sucks. I say if you know the guy and are on good terms with him I would ask if knows anthing about it. Tell you will hook him up if he's cool. If he is a dick, then forget about it.

I do not know him or any of the family. I am in a somewhat rural environment (lots of Good ol Boys and Conservatives- it's hard to tell them apart sometimes-especially when you are somewhere in between yourself). Only access to the plant, visual and otherwise was an obstructed view from his house. They were even standing outside when I walked out there. They went inside right away. There is a slight chance that someone could have come from the woods behind the house but that is highly unlikely. They got it- I'm sure. I would confront them but then that really starts something. I am thinking that I should just chalk this one up to a bad decision on my part. It kills me that it was my Dad's last plant though.

do what you want man. but i will say if you dont got the guts to handle someone that wronged you then you really shouldnt be soo into ileagle activities should you?

just confront dude about it. if he stutters or you think he stole it throw some punches.

i had a similer situation happin to me years ago. this vic stole 3 outdoorplants from me. all 3 were superskunks. except me and a few my boys went into his house and stomped him silly. and i was arrested for homeinvasion, but i got it dropped to a lesser felony.... and yes i went to jail and it cost me money... but man it was soo worth it. and if i could go back in time i would do it again, but this time so he couldnt call the law

if you really want it, i would innocently give a sympathy story, saying how your dad had just passed away, and that was his plant which has helped you get thru this time. Basically its telling thw truth....How could you start a fight with someone who jus told you that? And if they didnt, they would feel like a real ahole when they found out later

I tend to agree but it has taken me along time and a lot of work to get away from that approach. I have become a much more balanced individual. There was a time when that would have been my immediate route but I did the time that goes along with that approach and do not have any interest in doing any more. I only grow for personal use and the point is so I don't go ballistic. I think attacking would be an obvious and costly mistake- IMHO. But really, thanks for the advice. Besides- the guy is like 65 years old or something!

I couldn't agree more. That is what I think I will do. It is the truth and the plants were sincerely medicinal in nature. My Dad died from liver cancer and could not metabolize traditional pain meds. It was the only thing that he looked forward to and that made him eat,

man.. i really hate to read threads like this, as they tend to make me sick to my stomach.. i once had someone break into my car and stole this 1/4 of g13 that i had in it at the time.. the best part of it was the dude got arrested for some other shit before i got my chance at revenge... karma is a real bitch sometimes..
aside from just confronting the dude straight up, theres not much else i would say to do.. as i know that with my luck if i ended up beating the scumbags ass that i would be the one ending up in jail or in trouble atleast... and that sh*ts just not worth it anymore imho..

Nothing pisses me off more than thieves but you really can't do much unless you want to severely break the law. A plant is simply not worth getting a felony and going to jail and going to court and blahblahblahhh. People who think otherwise are thugs or morons and need a reality check. Sure I would LOVE to beat the crap out of people ALL THE TIME (I have an intolerance for idiocy :/) but I don't because it's obviously not going to help me nor will it help anyone else. How can you even say that when YOUR dumbass was fined and imprisoned and has a felony on their record all because someone took 3 of your plants? It's a fucking plant, it does NOT even come close to comparing to the illagility of your violent actions. And if you went that nuts over 3 plants I wonder what other dumb shit you've pulled.

To think that when ->MY<- car was stolen ->I<- had to pay !$200! just to get it back! They didn't even try to catch the people who jack cars around here either, no finger printing or nothing. I even offered to bring the car to a detective and what not, they wouldn't even do that. They wouldn't even really talk to me about people who knew I had the car that potentially would want to take it. It was just a waste of everyone's time and I just let it go. All you lost was a plant that probably cost you $10-30 and some time to grow. I'm sorry that it had a higher sentimental value than that.

Confront your neighbor and give them your story and if they don't give it back then at least they will have to live with the guilt that they stole medicine from a very sick person. Karma will take care of the rest, trust me. Chitownsmoking is a perfect example of that. Look what happened to him... whether or not he is "glad" that he did it.

Sorry to hear about your pops man, I am so glad that MJ helped him when he needed it. Grow on, be a bit more careful and remember that there will always be more plants.

Alright heres what you do..go to his house and say to him "hi i left my plant outside, seeing how no one else is around to see it but the perfect view from your house i was hoping you took the plant inside your place to keep it safe away from theives and offer him a cash reward for helping save the plant. your dad passed away and its the last thing you have of his and thank him for his help. if he doesn't give you the plant back..smash your window..call the police and say he stole your big screen tv

i would try talking to him, even explain the situation. most people who smoke weed are pretty understanding(in most cases).Since you put your in a rural area maybe he thinks u got a whole room set up and you wont make a fuss over one plant?the guys 65 maybe he dont know where to get bud anymore an your plants was to damn tempting ,the best is to try an figure a peace full solution, unless hes a total ignorant prick about it then tell him, if he tries that shit again you will make sure his body never leaves your yard.

This might sound crazy but hows about just letting it the fuck go. More plants will grow dude!
