While we're on the subject of Israel, I'm all for their medical cannabis laws.

They are totally overshadowed by Israel's official all but genocidal policies against Palestinians, even those who hold Israeli citizenship. Clean up THAT mess, and maybe Israeli cannabis will be taken more seriously.

Meanwhile, @Clifton Flack, perhaps you might visit Colorado, where cannabis is fully legal and OUR medical scene is second to none. And no institutionalized discrimination.

Gotcha... still working my way around etiquette in forums.

With Netherlands reputation and history combined with Israels innovation, I think these two countries can do a lot together... thoughts?

I'm not sure if that's true. Colorado I must visit soon (watch this space) since you've legalized there's a great opportunity for the medical side to take off... HOWEVER, when you can pop down to the local store and score an ounce, whats the incentive to go to your doctor to be prescribed?

Currently, price and quality. You see, medical card holders get substantial discounts from dispensaries because they don't pay taxes on medical sales and because medical cardholders tend to be far more regular customers than recreational customers.

In addition, dispensaries have discovered that selling second rate weeds at inflated prices to recreational customers doesn't hurt their reputation. However, medical customers are far more discerning for obvious reasons, and so the higher quality stuff just naturally migrates over to the medical side of things.

Finally, no recreational customer is getting an ounce at a time. Eighths and quarters, but if you want more there's always another rec shop nearby.

American perception of Israel and their actions against Palestinians isn't the best right now. Maybe if Israel stopped instructing its soldiers to violate their human rights, things might change for the better! Who knows until it's been tried?

I'm not coming anywhere near Israeli made products or services until their pogrom against Palestinians has been stopped and thoroughly discredited.
