I AM LOOKING FOR LIGHTS TO START GROWING 4-6 PLANTS WITH, AND SAW AN AD ON CRAIGSLIST FOR LIGHTS. ARE THESE OK TO GROW WITH?

PICTURES AT Industrial Greenhouse / Growing Lamps HPS Metal Halide

For sale; Commercial/industrial grow lights. Asking price is $35.00 each, 50 available. These lamps produce a full spectrum of light. Each lamp has two bulbs, one 400 watt metal halide, and one 400 watt high pressure sodium bulb. They can be lit seperatly or together. Dimensions are about 28x18x8 inches square. These have multi-tap ballasts and can run on 120v/208v/240v/277v. They are prewired at 120 volts. Original cost was $465 each and they are about 4 years old. These lamps had very little use and I have spare bulbs available. I have other large industrial Metal-Halide and Fluorescent lamps available. I am located in Northern Ozaukee county. Delivery available.

I would be very careful about it o.k, first of all that is dirt cheap even if that light would run hot. It might be a set up, have like a third party friend get them for you as long as that friend does not grow themselfs. they would work just fine but they might be louder and run hotter then newer ones. Just be careful

That just seems too fucking cheap. If you do buy it call from a pay phone a few times and ask questions that arent related to growing. One posible train of thought would be that your looking into it as a light therapy box for S.A.D. Seeing as those are suposed to put out full spectrum light to simulate the sun. Be care full that seems too good to be true, for sure check to double check the price since if its $350 it might be a legit seller. Ask why the seller has them in the first place ect.
