Collect water that runs off(excess) and check PH- PPM / ec can be checked with cheap Hanna meter(Get the digital) w/digi calibration. It measures parts per million/ electro conductivity- lets you know(1) disolved solids in your water( if not using RO) Subtract figure from total = nutrients used- So if your water starts at 100 ppm and you add nutrients and it = 800, then your nute level=700my little hubbabubbasmelloscope seed will be grown in FFOF and 30% perlite...that is whenever she GETS here. I have no patience.
I check Wilmas water PH before watering (6.5), and check ph of her soil (6.0). Now, what is checking runoff and what is ppm/ec? More to check? More probes or meters?

Are you using good organic nutrients and soil?
Unless you were trying to diagnose some troubles you should not have to worry about ppm/EC. With good soil buffering your nutrients, you shouldn't have to worry about pH either. The only time I had trouble with my soil was when I let the nutrients run out. pH rose and I ended up with some lockout.
This is what I have been told by many.
I didn't even touch my ppm meter ($15) till I started with non organic nutes.
I only started non organics because I underfed my plants so much they didn't have time to break down the organic ones.
Some grow boss can correct me if I'm wrong.
Welcome sine! great group hereEasy, another MA grower. going to be ordering 4x cxm22 3500 80 cri cobs for my small 2x4 x 4 bloom tent, and a clu48 1212 5000k for a small 2x2 veg room.
Growing in roots organic soil. probably going to mainline but we will see how it plays out. popped an amnesia lemon x unknown cross from my last grow 3 years ago. also a saphire OG and Honneybell from HSO that were gifted as freebies from another MA grower.
pics are of the Amnesia lemon. shes been topped for 4 mains as of today. currently they are all under a 2 bulb t8.
hot soil is cooking now with kelp meal, fish bone meal, crab meal, azomite, oystershell, and lots of EWC. thinking about getting some lobster compost from Coast of maine as well to blend in... Roots organic base.
Flowering will be in 7 gallon fabric pots.
happy growing.
My WW auto was in roots organic+25℅ growstones in a 5gal pot. 1000w hps light. It was happy with just water till week 4. At that point I should have given her some veg nutes. I didn't and she lost a lot of yellow leaves. If I was you, I would start light feedings of veg nutes at week 4 at the latest. Here is a pic of mine when I should have started feedings.I have Wilma in half happy frog, half roots organics. Since I saw a little leaf burn a few days ago I am not adding nutes or anything. I do have FF grow big, earthworm castings tea and liquid seaweed in the cabinet, but not using them. I'm going to just use plain water her next few waters....and if I see deficiencies, then I will add what she needs. I will use FF Tiger bloom when she shows signs of flowering.
If it was Tuesday I could have helped. . Gotta work all day today.Trim party, Anyone?
Hiya sine143. Welcome to the thread.Easy, another MA grower. going to be ordering 4x cxm22 3500 80 cri cobs for my small 2x4 x 4 bloom tent, and a clu48 1212 5000k for a small 2x2 veg room.

That's my bad. I saw the pic and thought they were in regular water jugs cut in half. Wasn't until I went back a few more pages I saw the actual pouches. Just trying to look out.Ummmmm ... that sort of defeats the whole principle of air pruning doesn't it? Root Pouches are pretty thick ... I don't think there's much risk, but thanks for the thought
No problem ... better safe than sorry. And welcome to the thread. Introduce yourself ... we're a nosy bunchThat's my bad. I saw the pic and thought they were in regular water jugs cut in half. Wasn't until I went back a few more pages I saw the actual pouches. Just trying to look out.
Vermiculite sucks, imo, holds too much water. When I ran it at around your rates my soil took forever to dry out sometimes over a week before I could water again, I was in 10-20 gal containers, but that's was still too much time between waterings. I like my medium to go almost completely dry between waterings. Just switching to perlite had it dry in 5 days max. I trying rice hulls now, but my base mix and volumes have changed , so I can't say how they compare. Supposedly aerate just as well, don't hold as much moisture, possibly deter insects, and don't have the ecological effects of perlite/ vermiculite.theyI are doing ok. Not as good as I expected size wise . I went with coastal maine soil n mixed it with 30 percent vermiculite. Im using jacks classic blossom booster
Your next project will be a hubbabubbasmelloscope auto if memory serves ... so here's what I suggest. Use 50% FFOF, 25% Roots Organics potting soil, 25% perlite. If you're worried about hot soil for the seedling, after you fill the pot, make a solo cup impression and fill it with FFHF to plant your rooted seed.Anyone familiar with using FFOF & FFHF? I am going to use a ½-½ mixture in a 3 gallon pot for my next lady. Also going to add about 30% perlite.
I cleverly used a mix of HF/OF/perlite 40/40/20 in half my pots and then did a HF/Perlite 80/20 on the top half and OF/perlite 80/20 in the bottom half. That way I could see what they liked better. Then I not so cleverly didn't keep track. ):Anyone familiar with using FFOF & FFHF? I am going to use a ½-½ mixture in a 3 gallon pot for my next lady. Also going to add about 30% perlite.

That is exactly what I was going to do. But I ran out of roots organics, so was going to mix some OF I have here with the Happy Frog and perlite. make a little solo cup impression in the middle and fill it with just Happy Frog. YEP....hubbabubba next. If she ever gets here!!!Your next project will be a hubbabubbasmelloscope auto if memory serves ... so here's what I suggest. I will now retire to the space under my desk until the flames subside
that sounds EXACTLY like something I would do. I just blame it on having a "blonde moment"I cleverly used a mix of HF/OF/perlite 40/40/20 in half my pots and then did a HF/Perlite 80/20 on the top half and OF/perlite 80/20 in the bottom half.
