New Cannabis Oil Vs Cancer Cell Study in BC!

Hello good people:

I would like to announce that one of our nurses at the cannabis research journal has been offered a doctorate in nursing (PhD.) by way of research. The research will be a human trial using cannabis oil to cancer cells. The location of this study will be in British Columbia! It will start as soon as we have raised the funding that is required.

There will be a crowdfunding campaign created in five weeks time. We would appreciate your help. We are stating our first goal is a website for the Cannabis Research Journal. Every dollar above that amount will go towards the cannabis oil study.

We can only use one strain through the entire study. You can tell anyone and everyone. Some promotional posters are attached. They're low res so you can use them as avatars if you want to. Please feel free.

Right now we're all over twitter - address - @cannabisRJ should you wish to follow us.

This opportunity has been blocked for decades by so many. It is incredible that it is finally going to happen. Please help us!

Thank you for your support!

May I ask what university has offered this nurse a doctorate?
What sort of Federal approval was obtained for this study?

What makes you think they have approval from the feds for this? I think it is a bunch of flakes not knowing what they are getting into. Ferinstance - who is going to give them a GMP supply of this "cannabis oil to cancer cells". They likely haven't even approached Health Canada for a pre-CTA meeting.

Bowl. Of. Flakes.

It'll probably have to come from GW Pharma, Bedrocan or PPS, because they are the only GMP producers.

Flakes [see "Bowl of"]

cannabis oil and cancer cells? Ya don't say. Here ya go.

cool eh!!??...and that cost me NOTHING!!!
,....personally? I wouldn't put a dime towards research if I needed it ASAP. I'd just go right out and TRY it... the only thing you have to lose is your life ......NOT trying.

Not trying to be an ass but EVERYONE wants to be "The Hero"

Here's a good study of 8 people with stage 4 cancer who have all been told there's nothing more that can be done besides palliative care,,,,that's been done already over the passed year. 5 of the 8 are still alive. Two of the five are children who have had their cancer tumors reduced and one is in remission.
Lots being done which is awesome.

Good luck.

Magenta Flakes is actually right. We haven't spoken to health Canada about this. All we have is the university agreeing to let this study go forward in BC. It is not a Canadian university. It's Australian. Calling registered nurses a bunch of flakes when they're trying to do something positive? We will consult with legal advice about us even needing health canadas approval following the federal supreme courts decision. Yes, we are hoping the permit and growers of the old system will be allowed to continue. Strain is to be further researched. It's amazing to me how much negativity people send out when cancer survivors actually make an effort to do something as proactive as this.

gb123, yes, you're absolutely right. You could just go ahead and make it and do it yourself. Power to those who do that. I'd just like to say that if your health system is ever to be changed to reflect the real needs that are out there, you need people in politics who have actually done something where they can say...well actually, I did a study to verify that cannabis oil kills cancer cells while in the human body and nobody can take that away and your present policy doesn't help people hence I am running against you. Some of these nurses and doctors and ex soldiers need to run for positions of government so they can establish better policy. You need to be able to show people that you have actually done something proactive which is what a study like this does. You don't want people in charge who are just suits...who are just from higher society and banking families. That's one of our reasonings. If this research is done, and there are 22 non human trial studies showing that it works, then this opens the door for other healthcare professionals to train in this area because those with the completed trials mentor the ones who want to go down the cannabis path. Let me ask you a question...how many nurses or doctors do you know of who are specialists in cancer treatments and education? They are there and they need to be thankfully. But they become specialists through the completing of research. Right now it's the wild west when it comes to cannabis training and formal education. The people who are making an attempt to educate and train are people like Mary Lynn Maitre who runs patients out of time. We're proud to say that we're part of that group of thinkers.

It's great if you're taking oil yourself. You should be if you have cancer in my view. Nurses and Cancer specialists need to see this research continue and it does have an effect on the momentum for more medical cannabis programs around the world.

Just curious...why aren't you doing this in Australia?

You need to be able to show people that you have actually done something proactive which is what a study like this does.

gb has been extremely helpful to at least one patient that I know of...I don't know how much "proactive" you think sick people can be.

Do the research. It's the only way to be sure. Hearsay, conjecture, rumor and intuition may point in the right direction- and may not, since uncertainty can't be addressed, let alone reduced or eliminated...

So, yes- Do the research. Let's be sure!

Because Australia isn't medical. Yet. Or, is my information out of date?

what do you plan on accomplishing other than what is already known? The proof is already out there. 2000 years of Antidotal evidence...of course
The US government has had a patent on THC for years!
There are tests being done here in Canada right now and have been going on for years. They are trying to figure out why some strains work better for different people with the same cancer and are looking into their genetics and trying to figure out which strain works better for each individual... They want to know why it works for some but not for others with the same cancer.
I'd think you would want to look into what's being done already.
The truth is if you are sick.. you do what you can to get better.
Relying on someone to help you get there can really such when they have nothing to gain by helping other than jail time...........

@WHATFG I had sick people do the same for me ;)

Although any research into the medicinal benefits of cannabis can only be positive, I wonder about the validity of this one. I admit I know less than nothing about getting approval for research or the funding of it, but it strikes me as odd that someone would be trying to raise funds here for an Australian University. Assuming they get Health Canada approval, (the court case will not address that), the results of the study may or may not be recognized by Canada and will instead help promote the MMJ movement in Australia. Our current regime does not recognize cannabis as a medicine...this study won't change his mind. A change in government however may bring a renewed interest into cannabis research and with it big pharma bucks. I'm with gb123, there is enough information already available for the average patient to decide what works for them...let's let GW or some other money-grubbing corporation pay for the research they will profit from.

Who is Mary Lynn Maitre ? I don't understand what you mean when you say she runs patients out of time?

It is because I know some RNs - Pharma Research is not their strong suit. Aussie University. Asking for Canuck funds. Bowl of Flakes sprinkled with Nuts. Good luck, because you'll need it. Three years before you really get your act together.
