New CFL lighting experiment

so i was laying in bed stoned one night and this clf light design came in my head, so i poorly drew it out this morning, what do you guys think, i was aslo thinking about haveing a clf hanging from the top also...but you can see how i have it wrapping around the plant

sounds like a really good idea dude but the only problem is that i cant understand anything from the pic u drew. U could draw another one that is clearly understandable and then we could discuss your thread for hours dude

yes this will work good. have you seen seemorebuds book...has a very similar cfl disign

i9ts good but most of the cfl lighting comes from the side of the bulb, i see all your bulbs have the tips on the plants, thats all i can say that not good....personally i think its a little too much work for a CFL light set up...i still love my cfl turkey pan hood, heres the pic.... at the beginning of the video, pause it if u like...it works awesome, trust me...[video=youtube;5Of7_R1TGbM]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Of7_R1TGbM[/video]

yeah i agree it looks like a little work, and the funny part of all this is i have a 600w MH/HPS system..but its just to much for me, cost to much to run and get way to hot and i really have no intrest in growing that many plants indoor, really didnt know what i was getting myself into when i bought it, wish i was a legal grower, i would sell it on here, i only want 200$ for the 600w digital ballast 1 600w MH and 2 600w HPS..

haha well someone will PM you soon enough my friend, if i needed i would, sounds like a decent deal, but my 400 is enough for my little cabinet, i only use the cfl hood for rooting clones...

you seem to be the only one not under standing the pic.....but look at it again....see the 3 rectangle with 3 circle's in them, the rectangle would be like a wooden board, and the 3 like circles in them reprisents the CFL lights...the 3 boards are linked togeather with cain/rope or hinges or something...the 2nd pic would be a pic looking down on the plant and the lights as if you were standing over it....do you see it now???

i'm planning on a similar system, 4 85 watt cfls above and 8 85watt cfl's around the plant.

heres a explanation of how mines going to work, on each corner of my grow tent theres a steel pole which is the frame, i'm goins to use a piece of wood with a hole drilled in it to thread onto the frame, then on each piece of wood i'm going to fit a cfl at the other end so it will swing towards the centre of the tentto get it closer to the plant and will swing outwards as the plant gets bigger. also the piece of wood will have some string attatched going up to the top of the frame to be able to set the height of it on each corfner pole there will be 2 pieces of wood i was expecting my light fittings to arrive saturday but they never turned up so fingers crossed they should arrive tommorro, as soon as they get here i will put them in and take a pic and post here for you fingers crossed it will work, also i'll be combining it with carbon dioxide to hopefully achieve a decent sized plant wihout having to stretch it

thats a quick pic of my idea, but thats just one layer, i'm going to have another layout the same on top of that,
