new drying method

okay so here it is. recently due to unforseen circumstances i was unable to dry my harvest using conventional means so to make a long story short i had to do what everything i read says not to do. i had to dry outside and let me tell you, my results blew my mind. i had some of the same strain that a friend dried in his house and then i had some of the harvest that i had to dry outside and the results are in. the stuff dried outside had a better taste and a better appearance retaining more of the lime green tint of the ripened buds pre harvest than the indoor dried stuff did and at this point it seems potency may be slightly higher with the outdoor dried stuff. i like to spread what little bit of exsperiance a rookie such as myself might have so here ya go, this is my setup... cardboard box from homedepot. once assembled its about 1.5ft square, four lines of twine spaced evenly across the box, one 5 inch battery powered fan (approx $6 at home depot), and one of those $2.75 containers of damp-rid. put the fan in the corner of the box and the damp rid in the center. spread the trim evenly on the bottom of the box and the trim up once or twice a day. temps have ranged from 48- 75 degrees from night to the day time and humidity ranged from 35% to 65%. believe it or not so far i have not got any mold. just make sure as you hang the buds that they arnt touching the ones beside them or the side of the box. this has provided a very slow dry. approx 6-7 days from harvest to crispy on the outside and ready for jarring if thats when you like to put them in the jar. good luck and i hope this helps someone.

I basically had to fry outside too. In a well ventilated storage area attached to my garage. It's unheated and dark..temps have stayed very cool and they've been hanging two weeks this Wednesday. I've started manicuring and jaring. They are looking good.
