Hello all.. wanted to kinda spread the word about this new method as it's just.. well too good not to share, to be honest.

I am hoping this can change the curve in favor of dry sift as opposed to bho.. and people hurting themselves. It just doesn't need to happen.. and who isn't tired of buying cases of butane? I know I would be, lol.

15 second scuff.. no carding.. no refining.. and you can make this with the utmost ease in just about any weather condition. I have done it from winter to summer, humid, not.. etc.. still works. You'll find what works best for you.. Cheers.. :leaf:

Specs on screens?

How bout the flower? FF, cured, etc? Avg yields?

I take it the stuff on the first plastic sheet is better than what gets flicked off on the 2nd one?

Is barehands some how better than gloves?

What sort of processing after it's sieved? Press? Heat? etc?

You are actually doing a variation of a traditional Afghani technique, they usually double sieve when they actually touch the trims on the screen.
Nice seeing people showing some dry sieve.
Do you press by the way???

Quote: "You can do it quickly with a dehu if you want. Aged/cured works as well, but it's really not *needed*."
You should try dried/cured/aged and you will see how needed it is if you are really looking for quality especially in the taste and nose.
Only the Afghani and the Lebanese are double sieving, it is not really the number of time that you sieve but how you do it. Sieving is an artform in those countries and they have been doing it for tenth of thousand of years. If you take the time to study the culture excelling at it you will realize that the only new touch that you can bring on the table is in the quality of the sieve and or play around with size, not the technique.

Quality > quantity.

Thanks!

And as for the *needing* cured trim to make quality.. naw. I agree on the flavor/smell/etc.. but of course you could always just store it well after being made and it cures up quite nicely as well.

I'm simply saying for the impatient.. like myself.. haha.. it can be done ;)

Cheers!

It is really worth doing it. I realized how important it can be when I had the chance to run trims dried and cured on the flowers for more than 6 months on a very regular basis. I had the chance this harvest season to do the same plant fresh and just dried trims incredibly different. Dried and cured on the flowers the hash taste like chocolate with a hint of fruit or mint for some people. Fresh trims make a hash that taste like grape with a hint of lavender and just dried taste like the fresh but the overall quality is lower. The strain was the Pinot Noir from Aficionado.
Fresh is close to having Charas, "live trichomes". Dried and cured trichomes is more like Hashish, you never smoke dry sieve before a cure of 8 to 10 weeks and most certainly you always press before you smoke in all producing countries.

It's all about smell and taste. Usually the quickest i'll do anything is a month or two after harvest.. by that point it's a day or two in the closet and ready to rock.

Obviously if you have the stash and can afford to stick it away for 6 months, by all means.. but most people can't lol.

The beauty of this is you can quickly do so and still achieve the purity. Just tough to hang onto it and cure it once you have it available to smoke, lol.

The only issue in 12 years of doing this method is when semi-wet nug gets introduced.. if it's dry enough, it'll work purity wise.

Then it's just a matter of keeping it around long enough......

I am supposed to do a dry sieve session with a friend who practice a close version of Moroccan technique and I have a technique that is close to the Afghani, TC will shoot a video of the session. We are planning to do that sometimes by the end of Feb. If you want we could do one together if you are interested, it goes on Sub TV, pretty good marketing. If I remember we are kind of neighbor, so it would not be too difficult to make it happens.

I have never done a PM, just received them and I can't seem to find how. Feeling a little stupid I have to say!
So if you don't mind, do the contacting. Thanks

Ohhhh Snap son...

DSW & Frenchy doing the best of the best.

@Dry Sift...
I followed you on ICMAG, lurking for your tek.....

Unfortunately, all your pics and posts seem to be deleted or removed.

Are you able to give us a bit of tips on sifting?
From the posts I saw, on ICMAG...I saw lots of hating on ya, because you didn't want to hold their hand in the process.
I get that completely..
But, your sift is amazing bro!!!!
Please, please share a tip or two?
And always remember..

Lol... I love that cat strut.

Thanks, dude! I got a lot of flack for not sharing at a few sites.. I just wanted to share pictures and such I had made over the years and of course, everyone *needed* to know how it was done, ala' how Sam refuses to tell us all.. even though I have a pretty good idea.. heh.

Anyways.. I spent a few months there trying to help everyone out.. but people of course still wanted to hate, lol. :p It happens. Soo..

I refined the method even further.. had some custom sized meshes made for me, and here we are.. I added in a 3rd screen for cleaning real quick if people truly feel the need.. though everything i'll ever post, have posted, etc. has been done with zero carding, zero refining, and took only about 10 seconds to make, just like in that video. I didn't really think people would go the way of bho so much lately, lol.. but it's time for that to swing back to the pure tek a bit.. enough with the butane!!

Once people get a taste of this.. it's game over imo.

As for tips.. my top 3 would be..

1) Use sugar leaf instead of buds. Monetarily, it's easier, and I truly believe it just works better (surface area vs. green matter being destroyed to get to said trichs)

2) Use extremely dry material. i.e. small dehumidifier in a closet overnight, even if you 'think' it's dry enough. I dry small, airy buds (what I like to use) in a separate paper bag

3) Don't card if you don't have to. We are talking dry, brittle, microscopic particles here. If you think you can 'keep them separate' then lol. It's a lot of extra work cleaning it out.

Amongst a few other little things i'm sure i'll get to.. I have plenty of scope shots and melt shots, i'll just have to dig them out and start posting 'em..

glad to see you made it back

ive been using your tek for about a month now and have been very happy with the results
very easy to make, and smokes like a dream

a few questions:

are you still using the 125, 85, 61 micron screens? or have you moved too something else

how are you cleaning you screens?

what are you using to take those pictures?

Texas, hey man.. yeah.. lol.. anyways.. glad to hear you're pleased.. but it can get better.

I am not using those sizes. In fact, that was just what I had at the time.. the company I used for years stopped making certain sizes for whatever reason, so I just got what was close enough, I wasn't that worried. Yeah it still worked, but not as well as I had remembered.. so I decided to say screw it and make my own kits with my own mesh sizes.

So here we are, ~5 months later and i've got a whole new setup that works quite a bit better, and has a refining screen if anyone truly wants to remove that tiny tiny amount of bs for prom queen shots, heh..

Cleaning.. some weaker iso on a towel and just kinda rub them down on both sides til clean.. I actually like using paper towels (good ones) in order to see if i'm really getting that old resin off, seems to work great and over the years have had no strange issues after cleaning with iso.

The dome shots were taken using a good digital camera with a macro lens.. the scope shots are taken using a 200x usb scope, same one i'm including in my kits.

Do you have any pictures you've taken?

Damn well those are the screens that I have been working with
knowing the sizes that bubblebags used i felt they were kinda off, but still good results

no, I rarely take pictures, I need to get a digital camera, my phone is too blurry for good dry sift shots

do I need to PM you for the kit?? if not what's included an what are the new sizes
