New equipment that are now must haves for me

I am part of the Amazon Vine program which essentially means get free shit, use it, and leave reviews. Two things I recently received have been excellent so far with my minimal use.

First: Onilab Pipettor ~$40 US
This thing is slick. It comes with one 5mL attachment/cone. You can buy replacements in several sizes. The pipette will measure between 1 and 5mL. It is quite accurate for my needs and takes the guesswork out of smaller doses of stuff vs just guessing on the small plastic disposable pipettes. It adjusts in .05mL increments.

Second: Weighing Paper ~$12-15 per 500

These come in different sizes. I got 3x3" and 6x6" They are a non-absorbent paper to use on your scale. It beats the hell out of using the plastic tray that came with my scale. The dry nutes don't stick to it near as much as the tray. Plus, I can roll it up and use it as it's own little funnel. And, I don't have to wash it. Just use and toss. They are essentially wax paper, but in handy, precut sheets that are super simple to use.

If you use foliar ipm like regalia may I suggest this usb charged sprayer. Provides much better coverage than a spray bottle and generates a much finer mist as well.
DOUBFIVSY Electric Plant Sprayer, Watering Spray Wand Rechargeable Portable Garden Sprayer with 2 Nozzles and 5M Hose Multi-Purpose Plant Mister Sprayer for Yard Lawn Weeds Plants https://a.co/d/2VElQb2

I should look into the Vine program. I'm a huge shopper.

Several battery operated sprayers have popped up. I've never done much for foliar spraying so I kinda just ignored them. I'll keep an eye out. I keep waiting for a magnetic stirrer to pop up because I feel like I'd love one of those.

As far as the Vine program, I believe it is an invite only program. The only recommendation I can give is to review stuff and do it well when you purchase on Amazon. I think I got invited due to my reviews. I got an email one day from Amazon that said over 1000 people had found my reviews helpful. A couple weeks later I got an invitation to join the Vine program. So, I think those two were related but im not 100% sure.

Walmart has a similar program that I am in called spark. I used to get great s*** every month, but from the past year so it's all been crap, mostly. But yes I think you get the invite from buying stuff and leaving good reviews. My Amazon prime renewal comes up this week and I'm debating whether to renew it or not.

Yeah. I got a wee bit out of control early on just snagging free shit left and right. When I realized just how much shit I had gotten I didn't need I had to dial it back a bit. Haha

A digital pipette is pretty cool. I use the small 3 ml. squeeze ones. Pretty much use for awhile and dispose of them once they start getting a good stain inside.
An extra applicator on the shelf for the digital pipette would be nice to have when the one you have gets stained

Those 3ml ones are the same ones I use. I already have a bag of 100 more tips on the way for the new one. This pipette isn't digital. It's mechanical. You adjust the amount by screwing the plunger up and down and that changes the distance of the throw. It's great.

that sounds better than what I was thinking, adjust then just pull the amount needed?

how easy is it to clean when changing chemicals? I bought a 100pack of the disposables and toss them out if I forget what I used it for.

I see now. But still awesome just the same. My squeeze bulb ones are not as accurate as your new one for sure. Thanks for clearing that up.

Just to be extra finicky. That pipette is digital because you set the volume in discrete steps. Analog pipettes have a sliding scale . (in theory) you can set any volume you want. The digital piette has a finite number of volumes.

For the rest that doesn't want to spend so much or deal with calibrating them. Just use normal syringes. They cost pennies and are accurate.

You can autoclave the disposables too, but only so many times. Something designed to be sterilized often would be pretty nice in that regard. I would like to know how it hold up to repeated pressure cooking. That's the real test IMO!

How do you calibrate those anyway? Suppose you could tare it out on the scale first, then fill it up with the exact weight for 5ml or whatever..

What's the point of sterilizing? It stays dirty.

Calibration is done by pipetting volumes of water and weighing it. ISO 86552 is where it is described.
