New Grow in New Setup with LEDs

Hey guys,

I am back for another grow. Haven't posted much, but that will soon change once I get my tent all set up.

I have ordered just about everything I need.
4x4x7 grow tent
4 DWC 5 gallon 6" net pots
10L hydroton
pH meter
pH calibration solution
GH pH up & down powder 2.2 lbs
TDS meter
4 light ratchet hanging things

What I already had (have some short threads with pictures of previous grows)
300 watt LED runs at about 180 watts
100 watt Blackstar LED runs at about 55 watts
CO2 tank and regulator (might not run CO2 till flower)

What I need to add
Exhaust fan and carbon scrubber (once I find out the dimensions of the exhaust ports)
fan speed control

Nutrients I HAVE
GH grow powder
GH Koolbloom
H&G Magic Green (foliage spray)

Nutrients I want to add to this grow
H&G Aquaflakes instead of GH grow
Liquid Karma
Hygrozyme
Bud candy
Big bud (I still plan to use Koolbloom since it isn't used till about the last week Big bud is used)

Here's the fun part (for me at least)
My last grow I stressed my plants and let them flower longer than normal (cut the main colas and big buds before) to hopefully hermaphrodite a few (running low on seeds and I was not able to grow for the next 8 months or so). My attempt was a success and all the plants ended up with seeds, some only had a couple some had like 20+.
The fun part is that I had 6 different strains growing, Great White Shark, 2 White Widows, Skunk 11, Mekong high, Spicy White Devil, and a Blueberry Gum. A couple of them hermied, I think they were GWS, WW, S11, there could of been more but all the bud has gone up in smoke, I found the bananas on those strains for sure though. The skunk had the most seeds by around 30 probably, then the GWS, followed by 1 of the WWs and a Blueberry Gum. The other plants had less than 10 seeds.
So what I am getting at is the white widow pheno that was more potent but maybe less yield (might just of been the position in the tent) is the plant I am going to use the seeds from first for this grow,
The cross could be WWxGWS, WW#1xWW#1, WW#1xWW#2, or WWxS11.
The GWS pheno was high yielding and not as potent as the WW, the skunk was the fastest grower out of the plants with very good yield, not as potent as the WW. Pretty much all the plants were dense, not rock hard but this grow wasn't nearly the best I have done, only vegged a couple weeks got maybe 3-4oz from them all combined, had to rush things as I was moving out.
I am stoked to grow 4 of these seeds out and pick the clones from the best pheno to keep growing.

oh and one question. Does this mean I get to name the strain?? haha that would be awesome.. Hakuna Matata.. because I'm not worried about the crosses as long as they are fat dense and potent buds.

oh yeah, I have been seriously debating whether or not to get one of the 1000w LEDS (550 watt actual draw), saw some post on YT that a guy was getting 2 lbs easy from about 600 watts of LEDs (it was a Mars II 1200, he could be lying, didn't see proof)

I forgot to add that I am going to do a scrog screen that curves up on two of the sides kind of like the letter "U".
I will be topping or fiming the plants and most likely doing some lst and super cropping. I have done scrog in the past but it was just a flat screen and it worked very well, but if I had let the screen get more full before switching the lights over I would have gotten a bigger crop.

This grow is going to be a big step up from my last grows in terms of supplies, space, soil to DWC, and lighting.

I won't be gone for a couple weeks at a time like I have been for my past grows, went to Thailand, came back two weeks later and my watering pump had burned out or something my OG #18, and Green Poison dead like 4 weeks into flower, made like 10 grams of dry ice hash from the OG.

Ok so this is my set up right now, I got this 1000w LED from ebay, it runs at 530-560w.

By the time I start flowering I will have all three LED lights up and running as well as some cfls for more lighting.

I think the 1000w has more of a white-red spectrum while the 300w has more of a red spectrum. I'm looking forward to seeing the results in the next few months!

Ok so here are my four baby girls, 1 seed from a green poison (I think it is crossed with an OG #18, I had a green poison and an OG #18 that was 3 weeks ahead die in the same tent due to me being in Thailand for 2 weeks and a water pump dying on me), and 3 White widows that could be crossed with many different things. I germinated them in paper towels, took about 4 days before they even popped, then I put them straight in the hydroton, about 2 days later this is what I have

They are 2 days old (2 days since them popping out of the hydroton)

The girls are now 14 days old

I put up a screen I bought off ebay, it is "game bird net poultry pen netting nylon 2"", It works pretty well once I managed to cut the right size out of it.

I topped the WW #3 and the Green Poison around day 17.

I modified the scrog a bit, I'm trying to fill out most of the screen before switching to flower because with my past LED grows the plants didn't seem to stretch very much. My new light proves much better in the aspects of light spread and penetration, another reason to let my girls grow even longer.

Looks good. I am curious, what are you doing about light for the rectangle intakes on the bottom? Or are you keeping them closed for CO2?

I will readjust the LEDs once the plants get a bit of height on them so that they don't block as much of the 1000 watt LED. But the angles they are at seem to get good coverage.

As for CO2, I haven't been using it yet. I will cover up the rectangular port if I get the CO2 set up for this grow, I have it uncovered now for a passive intake.

WW #3, Tent, Green Poison, All plants

I'm about to defoliate a bit and supercrop again

Just defoliated and supercropped again and check out all the new budsites that will form in flower.

I haven't defoliated the WW#1 or WW#2 but I have pushed the fan leaves back, and only supercropped those two once.
The Green Poison and WW#3 are growing super fast, I am looking forward to flipping to 12/12 in the next couple days.

OK so tommorow is going to be the flip to 12/12 after 24 hours of darkness, once the girls wake up I am going to change the reservoirs to the first week of flower. The big ones have started to drink a lot of water everyday as well as the small ones. The roots really took off after dosing some Roots Excelurator for the first time last week, I believe that it helped the growth take off under the 1000w LED for the last 1.5 weeks of veg.

DWC has been going smoothly for me so far, a bit of nute burn, but no root problems, algae issues, or pest problem yet, I am really liking this compared to soil, much faster growth (on two of the plants) and no damn gnats, those things are real annoying. Everything is a lot easier to clean and keep clean as well. I like that the hydroton is reusable after sterilizing it too, no more big bags of dirt going to the garbage.

Hey, I am going to finish this grow off in a new thread because I can post everything I am and will be using on it there and to have a nice clean look to finish off flower. Some of the info contained on my first post has changed and maybe inaccurate.

I will not be using C02 this grow because, my friend who was borrowing the tank will not be able to get it too me yet, unless by some miracle he gets it to me this weekend. I am cool with that because of the two plants that have been taking their time growing, my next grow will be clones of the fast growing two, as long as their buds are real fine, I will take four clones of each and see if I want two of each plant or just keep the four from the best plant. These are just some thoughts for what might happen in the future. I do not currently have a veg tent set up.

I will link the thread here once flowering is underway, tomorrow or the next.


Would revegging be a good choice so I would already have developed roots?

Revegging will not save time for growing roots. You are better off just taking some cuttings for clones.

For my Strawberry Dream second grow the clones came from some cuttings I just chopped and threw in the window in a solo cup with water. A couple weeks later they had little roots just floating around in there so tossed those in soil and within a week they really started taking off. I call it my IDGAF method

Haha nice, I am doing that basically, accidentally broke a pretty big top off the WW#3 and it has been sitting in a cup of water for the past 2 days, still looking alive and well for the most part
