New grow! need help with a few details on how to move scrog from small tent to bigger tent.

Hello, I am a fairly inexperienced grower and I am looking for some help, tips and/or insight on a new grow I am planning. I will start by listing the equipment I will be using for my seperate Veg and Flowering rooms.

Veg room:
one 120cm X 120cm X 200cm(4x4 feet) Growlush tent.
one 125 mm Cooltube reflector with a 400W MH lightbulb and a 400W ELT ballast.
one 150mm (460m3/per hour) adjustable intake fan with thermostad.
one 120cm*120cm DIY Ebb and flow hydro set up(in one big tray).

Flowering room:
one 240cm X 120cm X 200cm(8x4 feet) Mylarbox tent.
two 155mm Cooltube reflectors with two 600W Growlush Super HPS lightbulbs and two 600W Growlush ballast´s
one 200mm (930m3/per hour) adjustable exhaust fan with thermostad.
one 40cm-diameter fan inside tent.
one Filter Rhinoe Pro 200mm/1150m3 carbon filter.
I am undecided on what hyroponics to use. Thinking either Aeroponics or bubbleponics which I will be building myself.

Nutrients:
Sensi Grow A&B
Sensi Bloom A&B
Big Bud Bloom booster

Seeds:
20 Critical feminized seeds.

Now to my setup Idea. First I will talk about the tent sizes. I was planning on having 20 plants in the vegg tent, using SCROG and Topping until the plants fill up that tent(thinking this will take about 6-7 weeks from clone/seed). Then when plants need more room I would transplant them to the bigger tent, giving them time to adjust and fill up the new tent(with SCROG) before switching to 12/12. Also I plan on taking clones from them before switching to 12/12 and restocking my veg tent.
I have some questions about this plan of mine. The Flowering tent is twice the size of my veg tent so I am assuming I would have to move one plant at a time and adjust them in the Flowering tent using a new SCROG net. Has anyone done something simular to this and has a good method on moving the plants with SCROG into different sized grow tent?

Ventilation:
I am planning on having only one intake and one exhaust for both tents, using ducting to connect the two tents. The smaller tent will recieve the new air from outside after it has passed through the cooltube. In the flowering room I will have the exhaust fan that will suck the air through a carbon filter, then through the two cooltubes and then blow it into another room in the apartment. The reason for me opting for only one intake and one exhaust is because the bedroom containing to two tents will need to be concealed with few clues to the outside world on what is going on inside.
I have concernes over heat and am not sure if this is an adequate ventilation system for two tents. I have calculated that the fan power is more than enough(maybe even to much) for the tent size but I am not sure if connecting two tents is a good way to ventilate. Should I perhaps have a fan to move the air from the veg tent to the flowering room or is this not needed?

Hydroponics:
I have decided to use Ebb and flow in one big tray for my veg tent. I picked this because it is cheep and seems easy to move the plants to another hydroponic system for instance bubbleponics or aeroponics. I will probably not be using buckets for the flowering system but rather a few big bins.
Can anyone suggest a good hydro setup for my flowering room. Please give detailed answers with Pros/cons, workload, noise pollution, yield output and cost in mind.

Nutes:
Haven´t studied these enough so could use some info on them. Perhaps something missing or maybe the wrong nutes all together? Anything you suggest me using with these nutes?

Otherwise my main concerne is how to move plants from a Ebb & Flow SCROG tent to a tent twice its size using a different kind of Hydro system. I have only found answers to moving to same sized tents with SCROG.
Anything else I need to know would be appreciated, for instance if I am using the wrong lightbulb brand/nute brand/tent brand/do I need more fans inside the tents?... or simply anything. Also I haven´t been able to find out what size bulb fits in what cooltube. Do cooltubes simply take both MH and HPS of all sizes ? And is a 400W bulb big enough for my veg room?

Thanks in advance!
Peace.

I strongly urge you to start with a simple 600w HID in a small space with SOIL and a simple cheap fertilizer from a home improvement or garden shop. Soil allows new growers to get their footing before they dive into water culture.

As far as nutrients go a 3-1-2 will give you beautiful plants and delicious smelling flowers. I find that I can use the same synthetic fertilizer from seed to harvest at an extremely low cost. Bloom foods are not needed and may indeed do more damage then harm. Read, lots.

Thanks for your reply. Going for a small grow is not an option. I have grown once before using an NFT hydro system and 2 1000W lamps. I will be renting an apartment solely to grow cannabis so going for a small grow will not pay the bills. Why you tell me to go for a small grow is understandable but not very helpful. Please if you find my setup ideas not being good then tell me why and I will consider making modifications.

I have changed my mind a bit about the ventilation. I think I might use a T ducting piece to suck air from both tents and instead of connecting them with ducting.

From my experience, 4-6 plants should fill a 120x120 screen in 6-8 weeks comfortably. I'd grow them into that without tangling them into each other just to keep them flat and low. If you want to move them at this stage i'd make your screen from string and just cut it out so you can move the plants undamaged.
When you move the plants to the 240x120, space them out evenly and lower your screen down on top. Use garden netting for this screen, or sonething tougher than string. Not chicken wire. Veg for another couple of weeks, yoy will have gone from say 80% full to 40% full by doubling the area. You could put more plants in the original tent I suppose. That would probably speed things up.
Have you scrogged, or participated in one before? If not, a trial run might save you a lot of hassle.
Does your tent of choice have 360 degree access to the screen? You'll need it. If not, you might try and find one that does. My roof qube does, so I assume the green qubes do too.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I was thinking about doing something like what you mentioned with the string. Cut out the SCROG netting from the veg tent and then move it into the flower tent and put in a new net. Hadn´t thought about needing 360° access so thanks for that info, I believe the tents I am recieving has full access from all sides but I will be checking that out later today.

No it is my first time scrogging, is there any particular reason why I should do a trial run? It seems pretty straight forward to me. If I didn´t have to move the plants that is.

Yeah the reason I will be planting 20 plants in the small vegg tent is to speed up filling the Flower tent after I have moved them over. That is at least my plan for the first cycle. I may use fewer plants when I do the second grow. My thought was it would be better to have too many plants rather than too few for my first go with this equipment, better to throw out plants rather than having space/watts/time going to waste.

Any other tips/thoughts would be great =)

Thanks!

Only suggested a trial run because it could be hard to judge how to fill a massive screen in a first scrog

Oh and one question. Do you think it would be better for me to use buckets in the flowering room to make it easier to space my plants better or do you think for instance 4 big bins would suffice?

Peace!

Should I perhaps opt for a bigger vegg tent? I am kind of limited on how much electricity I can use so I would prefer not using a bigger lamp than 400W for my vegg room and I was thinking a 1.2*1.2 tent would be ideal for a 400W lamp. Do you recommend me getting a bigger lamp and/or tent for my veg ?

I think a 600 would be concidered optimal for 120x120, but for vegging I'm sure a 400 would be plenty. Get a dimmable ballast maybe and start it off low and build up to max/super lumens by the end?

If this gets up and running, be sure to get a log or diary going. I'm considering a 240x120 to add to my system in much the same way you describe. I'd be interested to follow along.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just veg them normally and move them to the flowering tent before you scrog them? Perhaps move them to the flower tent earlier than you planned to give you more chance to get them scrogged and trained nicely.

P.S. save some power and use an LED for vegging!

Might be worth checking, but I don't think mh bulbs are dimmable. Hps are

Yeah that would probably be easiest. Scrog when I have moved them to the flowering tent. I will see how it goes.

I read somewhere a year ago that LED lights don´t grow the plants as fast. Is that incorrect?

I think a decent led (read expensive) will perform pretty well and in time will recoup costs.

Maybe small screens, 1 per plant just to keep a flat canopy in the veg tent?

Got to admit I've got no frame of reference for the speed, only done one grow ever and that was LED for 12 weeks seed to harvest.
