Hey guys yesterday my design failed. So I said fuck it and drive up to the hydroponics depot bought a 31x31x 5'11 tent. A mh/hps ballast/reflector. A new bulb hangers etc.... But the mh bulb gets hot so I have it 11 inches away from my plants. I don't want them to stretch... But the bulb gets really hot.... So any advice would surely be appreciated. Oh an if anyone knows how to wire a pc fan into a regular socket... I'd like to know that to lol

MH & HPS bulb both get very hot when lit & it's absolutely normal, a tent like your require adequate ventilation, I would recommend a 6" in-line fan & a speed control box + a couple oscillating fan

you have got to back that bulb up. You have good height in your tent. I use the hand test to see if its too close or not, works great. With the PC fan it depends if its 120V or something lower. If its 120 just attach a male in on the two leads and plug it up. If not you will need a small step down transformer (like for doorbells) to step the 120 down to the voltage you need

Those light bulbs tend to get very hot, and that's something that you need to keep in mind.

And get a better fan than your PC fan, if possible. From my experience, those don't seem to help as much as you might think.

Hey, I ordered a inline duct that will fit my fixture. An the flex that I actually have. I would like to receive any information I can.. Best light distance from plants, how long veg and flower usually take with these bulbs, do I actuall need to run them 18 hr a day??? I dot want a ginormous expensive electricity bill... So if anyone can help me out with all their information on mh switching to hps for flower in a tent I would love to read it. This is my first grow in this type of setup
