Ambient Temperatures
Ambient temperature is the temperature your growing space sits at. It's affected by external factors like the temperature outside, as well as internal factors like the heat (or lack of) coming from your grow light.

Temperatures inside of your garden play a big role in how well your plants breathe and absorb nutrients. The ambient temperature of your grow room plays a huge factor into the humidity level in it, which will affect how much your plants will sweat, absorb nutrients, and ultimately grow. Excessive heat will make your plants breathe and lose water quickly, while excessively low temperatures will slow down the absorption of nutrients, stunt growth, and can lead to moisture build-up (and all the problems that come with it). Photosynthesis in plants can only be achieved at certain temperatures, so even if the humidity of your growing space allows your plants to breathe properly, a bad temperature may not allow for your plants to convert nutrients into usable energy for your plant to grow. Your plants are constantly trying to grow, and when temperatures are off it makes it difficult for the plant to do so. No matter if your plants like it tropical or cool and dry, knowing the ambient temperature of your growing space is important in making sure your plants are getting what they need to convert nutrients into usable food. That includes making sure the temp in your room isn't affecting the temperature of your water or medium temperatures. Common grow room temperatures include (but are not limited to):
  • Clones/Seedlings: 72-82°F
  • Vegging Stage: 68-78°F
  • Flowering Stage: 68-77°F
  • Temperature Drop: 10-15°
Idea of what might be happening inside a stuffy tent with no air flow in or out. My money is air exchange and perhaps excess light, before you weren't getting stuff reflected back the way it does in the tent, also harder on your eyes. You wear glasses when you are inside the tent?
When i said I had the door closed that was for my last grow, this time around i have a carbon filter everything the 3x3 ac infinity kit includes and i leave the door open now. So with my previous grows i didn’t have the tent so the door was always shut, and the plants loved it. Temps and humidity are also exactly the same as before, i grew at the same time of year the previous years.

You go in and out of the closet much while you did the grow?
yeah but some days I also wouldn’t. Id go in to water and adjust the light because they grew fast! Also every time i’d transplant and put more water in the humidifier, but I think they liked the door closed so I wasn’t trying to let it air out really.

She was started in the living room. Then moved to a tent, then to the neighbors tent, then back to my tent, then outside and finally finished in the garage. In total 7 different lights plus the sun! I found 3 seeds in the whole plant. Loved that plant.

That is a happy plant!
Yeah hopefully i can get this tent working right bc i spent like $700 on the whole setup bc of how good the past few years have been, before I was growing with what felt like no equipment, just went to the local hydroponics store bought a mars hydro light and soil, a humidifier that I found on amazon that could set humidity and a oscillating fan that i already had. And I used these two little temp/humidity gauges that were super cheap so I could monitor my temp and humidity.

You have any mold issues running a humidifer inside your closet?

Yeah $700 is a chunk of change, I've spent my share on stuff, mainly lights but I look for deals on CL and try it out and then move it along if I don't like how it performs. That plant was finished under 3000k HLG boards running to 260 watts per light. Was forced inside due to wildfire smoke. They saved my ass!
