New grower needs help :(

Hey guys new grower here. Having problems with slow seedling growth and very little veg growth ( I see new leaves but it’s no where it should be ) I’m growing autos and from what I’ve seen I’m way behind on growth.
Autos start slower than photos ... they have to build up their root mass before they take off.

my setup consists of a 2000w led full spectrum ...
Probably not ... unless you spent upwards of $2K on it :) Most likely that's the maximum wattage rating for all the chip in the light and has no bearing on how many watts it draws at the wall.

Ive tried having my first set in a small cup (germinated with a jiffy pellet) and learned the hard way about transplanting (tore some roots) and it took about 2 days to recover
There's a very simple rule about growing autos ... don't transplant them. If you want to start them in Rapid Rooters that are embedded in the pot they'll grow in, that's fine ... but because of the way they grow transplanting almost always has a negative effect on an auto

Looking much better. Funny how sometimes just leaving them the fuck alone is exactly what they need. They are looking like they are about to start growing really fast. Branches are about to shoot off like fireworks.
Thanks Joe! Really looking forward to see how these girls turn out

My tents are also only 5' tall because they are underneath some pipes in my basement. I can still grow some monster plants, just gotta learn some training techniques!

I'm guessing your light is a blurple? They have a tendency to make your plants short and bushy. I've been told it's because of how heavily they lean towards the blue spectrum, but honestly, I have no idea if that's true haha.

last time I flipped the flower switch I think it was more of a bluish red. But you could be correct. I’ll let you know when i head out and put them down for the night.

I don’t mind if they stay small. I’d like to be more of a quality over quantity lol

You’re 100% correct on the wattage. That’s only how it was marketed, truthfully I have no real idea what they are other then it’s making my girls grow lol
As far as the rapid rooters go, that’s a little over my pay scale. But, I’ll be sure to look into them now that you mention it

No worries .. just use the Jiffy pellets ... but embed them in the final pot so no transplanting :)

I would suggest having both switches on at all times. Its a total gimmick those lights offering a "veg" and "bloom" switch. Your plants will appreciate the full spectrum their whole way through, and the using only the veg setting will definitely keep them small.

And blurple is the colloquial term for that blue/red light you were describing. Better quality LEDs usually cast white light.

Well it’s been a week, here’s how the girls are doing since controlling my over watering issue.

as you can see not a whole lot of vertical growth, but boy did they fill in. Hoping when I switch to flower I’ll get a little more height.

The smaller girl hasn’t taken half the time to get where the other two took me. Gives that little confidence boots that maybe just maybe in a month or two I’ll have some decent smoke

thanks for the tips guys!
How much were you watering in your solo cups? I feel like I could've written the same original post you did. I'm not sure if I'm overwatering? I water if the cup feels light..none are doing horrible but not sure they're doing their best either.

I was actually wondering this. The 3 girls I have are all grapefruit diesel, I have a bunch of Afghanistan kush and bc blueberry heading my way and I debated trying to get a few more plants in the tent, but I wasn’t sure if it would it would cause issues having older and newer plants together.
I’ll be sure to flick through switch in the am though. Worst case I guess is that I get to start new again

I was using about a mason jar cap full about 2-3 times a day (rough measurement because sometimes it wasn’t actually full). From what I’ve seen that’s way too much the soil was sticky not damp but so wet it was literally sticking to everything.
If I did it with the solos again I’d probably do it once every day/other dat(pending of course relative humidity temp and how much moisture my light would draw from that soil)

Keep in mind this is my first grow, I’m like yourself still learning.

I was doing the whole spray bottle mist thing and then I upped that to an oz or just over per cup, per day. I go by cup weight..I think due to fear of overwatering that I've underwatered in some cases.
Boredom ± seeds didn't arrive ± search thru basgseeds and throw in jiffy pod for fun = this little science party. Good luck on your grow, your plants look so much better than mine haha. How old are yours tho?? Wanting to know if mine are just younger or truly shittier. Snaps from just now

The two bigger ones have to be 4/5 weeks now for sure (off the top of my head without looking at my books) but the little one is only about 2 weeks.

I had issues with the first two (over watering, root tear, temperature control) so that set me back a few days or more for sure.

Wasn’t until I got a little advice last week, when they really started to take off

here’s the actual color with the bloom switch on if you’re still wondering

Have to agree with others about both switches being on, being a autoflower they are pretty much in flowering mode the moment that they pop, they will be more stretched but you could even just use red 2700k to grow them, so both switches is always good with an auto. Also i have seen that you start them in pellets, i would suggest starting them in their final pots, auto's love to ve in their forever home ;)

That’s for the heads up! I’ve officially switched the 2 lights on. With autos are they like normal plants where you can induce flowering by switching the light cycle or will the girls let me know when?

Auto flowers will start flowering based on their age. Light schedule always stays the same the entire grow, 18/6, 20/4...
