New growth after 9 weeks of flowering?!? Is this normal?

I have been using CFLs to flower some plants. I am using 6 42w and 6 23w soft white CFLs. They have been flowering for over 9 weeks. The strain is a sativa strain, so the plant is very tall. I was getting ready to harvest at the end of week eight, but I noticed not enough red trichomes. About a week ago, i cut a couple of nugs off, and the potency was very very low. Now I figured I'd let it flower for a couple of more weeks.

I read on one of the threads that if there is new growth, the plant is probably not ready for harvest. There had been no considerable new growth in a couple of weeks, and suddenly it is growing again. There are a lot of new white pistils emerging from the nugs. Does anyone know why it would do that? I'd appreciate some help.

Possible that you had a light leak during darkness(maybe timer prob. or room not light tight).Maybe a light change. If you added another bulb or a new bulb or one with more lumens or a bulb wth a different spectrum that could cause that. How did it turn out?

I would suspect a light leak as well. It is possible for the plant to re-enter veg growth stage if the dark period is not completely dark.......

i thought some sativa strains would flower for like 12 weeks. So you just need to let it grow for around another 3 or 4 weeks and see how it is. Good Luck
