new growth still at harvest time?

this is my first time growing. I'm growing indoors in a 4x2.5 area. I only had one plant turn out female and she is what i believe to be close to ready to harvest. My trichomes have turned milky white and about 10% of my hairs have turned orange. From what I have read that is a sign that the plant is close to harvest. my problem is that I looked at my main cola and it has 3 new buds that have emerged and are starting to grown on top of it. Is this normal? Do I need to wait for those top buds to develop before harvest? I can take some pics if anyone wants to see what i'm explaining. Please help me I'm a newb and don't wanna screw anything up

A second flash of growth near the end is normal. Use the Thric. color as your indicator.

Most strains most of the hairs will have changed, but there are a few that stay white. Wait for all cloud with some going amber. Then adjust as you learn more about your strain.

Also, you can harvest in stages. Find some that are all cloudy and harvest them. While that is drying you can let some of the other buds on that plant ripen more and then harvet them. Compare the results and decide yourself.

awesome thanks guys. I found 4 new growth spots on my main cola and have found some others on my smaller buds. I'm just gonna let it keep rocking out until my trichs are in better shape. If I'm going to harvest some buds and let the keep growing how do i go about that? Do I just cut the stem and let it be? or is there something that i put on the plant where I cut the buds? It just seems like cutting some at one point and leaving the rest to develop would stress the plant and not allow the smaller buds to develop much more. Then again i'm an ultra noob and don't know much.

It will stress it a little, but it willbe okay. It may slow it down for a day or two, but it will continue on.

There is nothing to do other than cut it. No stem treatment at all.

.alright i will try that. can i top just my top buds on various stems and leave the rest of the smaller buds? or is it take a hole stem at a time? sorry if this is gettin tedious questions. just don't wanna screw anything up on my first plant that i've watched grow for the past 4 months?

Try to take whole buds, don't top the buds. You can top the plant. Just take as little as you can while achieving your goal.

hey just wondering if anyone could give me any idea when to start flushing this plant for harvest? from what i've read the trichs going milky white and some orange hairs is a good sign to start flushing and prepping for harvest. so with these plants now adding new growth should i still start my flushing or should i still fertilize for another week?

You should flush a week before harvest and from what you've said you have more than a week to go. Take samples from several places around the plant and check trichs. Take sort of an average. I'd flush when you have 25% amber trichs.
