New guy blues

Hi all. New guy here and first time grower. Hopefully I posted this in the correct section. Just wanted to get some thoughts on my 3 week old girl. She's growing a bit slow, but seems healthy overall. I did cut a few leaves off that had turned yellow because at first I was overwatering and using crap soil. Switched to ffof. Currently using a cheap 19w blue enhanced led light. Waiting on a new complete setup with a 300w light. I know the pot is a bit big (1gal), but I only water it a little bit at a time once the soil has dried out. Have yet to do any feeding. Do you think the 19w light is the reason for the slow growth? Thanks!

The first couple weeks are usually painfully slow. Under a better light you would definitely have seen more growth by now but once you get your new light you should see it improve pretty quick.

And definitely use smaller pots at first next time. I even like solo cups to start. Just makes figuring out when to water way easier when they are tiny. Also better off up potting a few times so you can keep giving it fresh soil for the roots to expand into.

Thanks! I did start it in a solo cup with multiple drainage holes on the bottom and sides. The soil i had was mgmc and it never seemed to dry out on the bottom and I think the roots were drowning. Plant started to yellow and droop. I'm not sure what they're called, but I did cut the first four leaves off a few days ago and just today cut two more off that didn't look so great. Wanted it to focus it's energy on the healthy leaves. I went from the solo cup to the 1 gal, eventually I'll she'll go into a 3 gallon. Hopefully that'll be sufficient for a while.

That home depot bulb is awsome for sprouting seedlings though!!!!
Yeah she seemed to be doing great for the first two weeks and growing like a weed, pun intended haha. This past week she just slowed down and haven't seen much growth since. The setup I got is the hydro crunch complete kit with tent and all.

Little update. She finally started taking off! I got the new setup on Saturday and it's grown a bunch since then!
