New Hydro Grow

Hi all budding bud buds,

Just started a new grow, dutch passion feminised orange bud and wanted to share the experience..

205 NFT tank
2 T5 PURple fluro's
250w sodium

From seed these are about a week old. Fed nothing but a small dose (1ml to 2l Ph 6.0 water)of Formulex for micro nutes.

Day 0-2 Germinating
Day 3 into small rockwool
Day 3-4 under fluro's
Day 5 into big rockwool
Day 5-7 under fluro's

Looking to put these into 205 NFT tank real soon as the roots are coming out the bottom of big blocks.

Will update as and when..

:joint:"What is the crime here ?"

Ok, so the lil plants have now gone into the tank.

10L PH'd water
10ml Formulex
5ml Grow Part A
5ml Grow part B

Everything is looking good but I'm unsure of one thing.

Shall I put these little plants under the sodium or keep them under fluro's for the time being.

These plants are currently on day 9.

nice.
I'm about to start another indoor closet CFL grow..
Hopefully this one goes better than my last one.

Ok, this is the plants on day 14,
the offical start of my 4 week grow period.

So far they have only had the initial 10L
food and the level now is just below the pump.
I'll be putting another 10L with the same
amounts of nutrient later today.

I am aiming to leave these on a 4 week
grow cycle from today under the fluro's only
before switched to HPS for the 8 week flower.

If anyone has any thoughts on early flowering I'd be interested ??
Can I do it in 3 and force flower ???

Very nice. Keep us updated, Id like to follow your progress. Hydro is a little intimidating to me, but some day I may try it.

Good luck bro.

hi stranger i started in a 205 gro tank when i first started growing i was well impressed by my first results with ionic nutes ,i like you used cfls for the grow period and it worked a treat then swiched to 400w hps for the 8 week flowering phase...i done passion 1 from dutch passion seeds and got completly wasted .....your on the right track... i upgraded to a 6ft muliduct nft system and never looked back .... good luck

Today, I noticed the rear plant has developed a browning on the lower leaves..

Checked the PH of the tank and it was over 7 so I swiftly adjusted it down and then misted all the plants with the adjusted solution.

I will continue to mist them until I know they are all ok.
Will update very soon.

PH, how could I of been so foolish ??

Day 28 and its all good.

Some changes ..

The plants have been transferred to a larger area (2m tall) so they have more room to breathe.
The previous area was only 1m tall and I saw problems as these stems are getting very thick.
I'm starting to think that maybe they have been put too close together but they all have a little give, so I'll start pulling them off in opposite directions soon.

The 250w HPS has been fired up and every surface has been lined with mylar so it's all bright inside. I've also added an airstone for good measure to keep it all nice n fresh.

PH seems a bit up and down though.
I spent yesterday wrestling with it.. Too high, too low...
Managed to get it stable in the end and I think it was a case of being too keen to test after adjustment.
Now I make adjustments and then leave it 2 hours before taking a measurement. Seems to be workin for me.

14 Days to flower....
Lovely jubbly ..

Ok, had a little drama the past week.

PH was up and down like a yoyo.. On my morning check, it was ok.. 5.5-6.0 but on my return in the evening it was 5.0 or lower..

I was then just adding normal tap water to bring PH back up to around 6.0.

The upper leaves have started to curl up and also I have some leave with brown/black marks from the outside edge on the tips.

As a result, and after extensive reading here at rollitup, I've determined that PH fluctuation has caused nutrient lock up of magnesium and calcium.

What I also suspect is that as I was adding more tap water, it was diluting the food more and more causing an N deficency, indicated by the yellow tips at the top.

The shame...

I've just mixed up 5L of solution to flush them through for 24 hours.
I've only added 5ml of Formulex micronutes to 5L of water PH'd to 6.5 for flushing out.

Tomorrow, I plan to mix a fresh solution with the same amount of nutes as before:

10L Water
10ML A+B Grow
10ML Formulex

Its the final 7 days on grow and I've read different accounts of how to change food.

When I switch lights to 12/12, shall I switch to bloom food at the same time or flush through again and then add bloom..

Any thoughts ...

Ok, got some grade in over the weekend so update got delayed..

Wed (day39)
Switched timer to 15/9

Thu (day40)
Switched timer to 14/10
Took 7 cuttings from all three and rooted in Clonex and little blocks.
These are now in the propagtor under the two T5 PURple fluro's and misting every six hours.
Lovely jubbly.

Fri (day41)
Switched timer to 13/11
Plants had a fresh tank of just 10ml Formulex in 10L of PH'd water.
I wanted to give 24hrs on just water and micronutes to clean out any grow food.

Sat (day42)
Switched timer to 12/12.
Done a fresh tank containing:

10L PH'd water
10ml Formulex
10ml Part A Bloom
10ml Part B Bloom

There is a little nute burn on one node of each plant about 4 sets down from top.

PH was up and down from day 19 to 25 (six days) and although it was adjusted as soon as noticed,
there may have been long periods of both under and over PH'd water (approx 6 hours).
Hopefully, this is what has made the leaves change colour and turn up but I'm not sure..

In image1, the leaf is on the left of the image.
In Image2, the leaf on the lower right.

Peace..

Ok, tanks been topped on twice since last week as the girls are gettin thirsty now.
The tallest plant is some 90cm and the stem is thick..

All with same mix.
10L Ph'd water
10ml Formulex
10ml Part A Bloom
10ml Part B Bloom

I have one cutting that is already in big block and 6 smaller ones that are still in small blocks.
Out of the six, I think 3 or 4 will make it as these have the lower leaves turning yellow/white.
I've gave them some root stimulant just to encourage them
1ml into 2.5L of Ph'd water with 2ml Formulex.

I've also pinned them back to open up more room for lower growth..

Start of week 3 flower yesterday and its all lookin good... Real good.

Nothing much to add this time. just playin the waitin game.
Little smell starting to come off now and they are all flowering up lovely.
The king on the left has stretched a lot but I'm hoping that'll calm down now. Temps get high inside, up to 35 sometimes. I think this was the cause..

I've put a bit more food in the mix when topping up so the ingredients are
10L Ph'd water
10ml Formulex
20ml Part A Bloom
20ml Part B Bloom

All six cuts have rooted out the small blocks as well but I didn't get a pic. Will post one soon.

Lovely jubbly....

Ok, this is day 3 into week 4 flower and all budding buds are looking real nice.
Thc started on inner leaves and the smell is fantastic.

PH keeps getting lower each day and I suspect underfeeding. Some of the lower leaves have yellowed and fallen off so I think I'm gonna up the food a little.

I have been topping up with just 10ml both part A and B bloom but will up it to 20ml (into 10L water).

So, ingredients are:
10L Water PH'd to 6.0
10ml Formulex Micronutes
20ml Part A Bloom
20ml Part B Bloom

Cuttings went into the other tank at the weekend and roots already started out of big blocks.
I'm gonna give these little fella's 2 weeks on grow and then switch to flower.

So, as you can see, its all lookin real good. I just love it..

Week 5 and the wait is killin me.

The big one was starting to runaway but has topped out finally and not before time. It's just resting on the carbon filter now.
Buds are getting better and better and should start gettin fatter.

I pulled what looked like male flowers off the lower half of plant 2, just below the canopy. Quite a few of them so pulled them just to be safe.

Food is at:
10L PH water
20ml Part A
20ml Part B
20ml Formulex

Much patience..

Firstly nice grow, cant believe that your having to pull balls off that is a shit init.

And as for the waiting, listen man it nearlly broke me on the last grow, four of them sat there stinkin away and there is nothing you can do about it, esspesiaclly when you live in the UK and everyone is selling shite at mad prices.

Sorry about the spelling that looks crap.

For those following this thread, I apologise.
Didn't take any pics last week as I took a lower branch off and smoked it while doing a food change. Speaks for itself really..

I had a bright idea and added a 125w Red spectrum envirolight to the lower half of the box as this was well shaded beneath the main canopy.
This was where I found the male flowers but there doesn't appear to be anymore.

Week 6 saw the plants getting a dose of Canna PK 13/14 to fatten up the buds.
They also got a dose of Bob Marley for good measure..

This was added as:
10L Ph'd water
10ml Part A Bloom
10ml Part B Bloom
5ml Canna PK 13/14

Mid week during week 6 the PH shot right down to 5.0 so I drained off the remaining solution (approx 3L) and added fresh 10L of:

10L Ph'd water
10ml Part A Bloom
10ml Part B Bloom
10ml Formulex Micronutes

Week 7 saw the shooting up of the lil ones. They've really taken off now and these will be going straight into flower once the big ones come down.

I've already started taking bits off and it smoke lovely, very sticky and smells good despite being not ready.

Not long now..

Sorry for the delay. I've been real busy.

Week 8 came and went without any real incident.

Week 9 saw the start of flushing with just PH'd water. I left them on flush for a full 7 days.

Start of week 10 was harvest time.
In total, there is about 8 large (12cm) buds and around 13 nuggets of pure orange bud. There is a lot of lower growth that is very fluffy but doesn't contain much smokeable material. It tastes great though and the stems are hollow meaning less food matter.

Most of it is drying in dark boxes with air holes and has been for around 6 days.

A soon as the main crop came down, the 2nd lot was transferred into the main grow area. Then of course, the 3rd set of cuts were set up in the redundant tank.

Hopefully, cropping again on 26 Dec and then 23 Jan so its all looking fine.

Thanks to all who have followed this thread.

I hope I've given at least one person the drive to get something going instead of paying these stupid prices for generic tasting shite weed.

This orange tastes sweet and has a nice easy high.

For legal purposes, should this blog entry ever be used against me in a court of English law, I would like to make the following statement.

I have grown this marijuna strictly for personal use and consumption.
My reason for choosing to disobey the law is the inaccurate policy of marijuana use in the UK.
Rather than pay for marijuana and risk funding organised crime or terrorism, I choose to grow my own and consume it within my own walls.

I pay taxes, I don't steal and I'm never sick.
