New Migro Lights?

Where's the best money spent now for lighting a 5x5 or 6x6 footprint? I need to cover 3 of them. Was about to order some more aray 750's but now I dont think I will. If similar tech is available for less cost, someone point me in that direction please. I have been happy with the performance thus far, but haven't gotten thru a runso cant really speak for end results. This my first LED grow. Im an HID guy

I've just swtiched from LED to HID over the last year, and I will be sticking with HPS as long as I can.

My first light was a Migro 250w, and I was relatively happy with it. I was growing living soil, and everything that came out was very good, but I always felt that something was missing. I was constantly coming up against what looked to be a cal mag deficiency constantly with it too. I always felt it was a little too strong too, there was always slight light burn, and for my last run I really had to turn the light down so the plants wouldn't burn.

Back to the Shane drama.

My hackles have been up for a while with Migro, but I couldn't fully put my finger on what it was. He obvioulsy is a LED lighting brand first, and a reviewer second, but conversations with him on discord made me really wonder about his background as a grower. His responses usually were quoting something from Bugbee. Then about a year ago, he did a podcast with the from the stash crowd. For me, that really highlighted what I found was my issue with Migro. He is not a cannabis grower, and does not currently grow. His wife's family come from a horticultural background, and he comes from an engineering background, and he made a business out of the two. It's why he often does test runs on things like chillis, or other regular plants (also because he lives in Ireland and it is illegal). His advice is no different than reading any other article online, there is little first hand experience with cannabis.

My personal beef with this current situation is that he was selling a product that was completely different than what his website showed. Not only was the light weaker and spectrum different than advertised, but the brand of diodes being used was completely different too. No osram and samsung diodes, instead the new chinese diodes that he has said he is planning on using in the future when the larger companies stop making them.

If that video was legitimate, and he was sorry, surely he should have done some sort of discount or option of replacing the light for what people paid for. Expensive option for him, but this was not a "fuck up" but more a "caught out". Sorry for the rant chaps.

If I was rich... i there would drfinitrly be signs.

Wait till Spiderfarmer's stuff is on sale, the SF-2000's you could get for 150$ at one point.
If you don't wanna pay 500-1000$ for a fixture, put two of these in a 4x4, they're decent.
Money Problem solved.

Plants underneath thr migro look much happier than the plants underneath the 2021 model Mammoth 800w. I will say that. We've got the light cranked to 100 and lifted higher than 16".

I need to read into some more when I have time. Need to order 2 more lights this week. Will check out what you recommended there. Thanks.

Might be interesting to run two Array 750's and 2 of something similar and compare. That'll tell a story.
Is there anyway to get a picture comparison? Understand if you have to be discrete.
Im honestly not surprised if array plants look better as iirc mammoths 21 spectrum wasnt very impressive

It could just be 2024 technology vs 2019 technology. Migro's new lights are the most design to hit the market and the spectrum is weighted heavily in the 660 region. If you're hitting the plants with the same PPFD, it could be something as simple as that.

Having said that, there are a huge number of variable in the growing equation so it's devilishly hard to do an A-B comparison.

Two thoughts - most growers do not give their plants enough light for the plant to reach their genetic potential. Second, if you're not one of "most growers" and if you can take advantage of the output from the GM light and if the marginal cost of is acceptable/not an issue, the GML light is superb.

Agreed. That would make for an interesting read.

I will be there tomorrow and will get a pic. Just go easy on me. Won't be fair comparison, technically. But I think itll be obvious. No 2 plants tbe same.
