Would be nice if the seed banks did it for us but I can't see it somehow, now where the hell can I buy jasmonic acid?

Seems it might increase trichome production if given during flowering according to this...http://www.citeulike.org/group/2438/article/853395 I know it's a completely different plant but it's still a plant...:peace:
 
Cheers Seamaiden, nice find with that link, I had tried to find a supplier myself but couldn't.

It's a bit pricey at first look but I think the effects are hereditary as the BBC article said that it was economically viable, so either businesses can get it a lot cheaper or maybe 1mg can treat hundreds of seeds but I got the impression that if you treat a seed then let the plant that grows produce seed they will have the benefit of the original treatment.

We need someone with money to burn to look into this (personally I'd be more interested in increased trichome production than pest/disease resistance but it's all good)

Where's all the moneyed up weed barons when you want them?:peace:

Did try to pm AlB but he don't accept them, probably fed up looking through a thousand pm's asking the same questions over and over again, I don't know if fdd or anyone else accepts them though.

Maybe this will act as a surreptitious bump and someone will notice it ;-). Probably my fault, I think I should of posted in the advanced cultivation section instead of plant problems, DOH!:dunce:

I don't think Al is a mod here, try fdd2blk or Chiceh, or potroast (I can't remember if he's capitalized).
 
Gotta hit things at just the right time. In other words, timing is everything. Maybe Subcool's heard about this, being a breeder and all. It would be nice to see this become more readily available.

I want to find out how Jasmonic and Giberellic acids can be used to increase trichome production or if anyone has even tried it with Cannabis. If you and I keep posting here maybe someone will eventually have info for us!:-):peace:
 
Giberellic for increased trichs..? I thought it was to push fem traits. Admittedly, I know little about it.
 
I know it hermie's plants when used by itself, but from the second link in post #1:

"Last, we found that gibberellin and jasmonic acid had a synergistic effect on the induction of trichomes, suggesting important interactions between these two compounds."

That's got to be worth looking into if no-one has already, I guess the difference is in how/where/when it's applied.:peace:
