New room = paranoia to the maximum

Hey rui'ers. I have spent every free moment the last month building a new grow room. I was running two 400w lights and some half-assed ventilation. New room has a 1000w 5x5 tent + a veg area with t-5 and 400w cmh in air cooled hoods. Vortex fan, two new circuits. ANYHOW..I am freakin out here. The 1000w is like a giant fuckin sausage and the 5x5 seems massive. I have a carbon filter so I should be more secure but it doesn't feel that way!! My product just makes it worse!

Carbon filter should take care of the smell, assuming you have no air leaks on the air cooled hoods. If you still feel the smell is escaping, you should look into a DIY O.N.A bucket. It has helped me lots on my first grow in an open closet.

Go Big or Go Home. You will feel better when you see the harvest from that upgrade.

Get use to the paranoia, it just gets worse. hehe

I prefer to scrub my air before it gets scrubbed.. basically a standalone C-filter in the corner, aside from the one inline with the ducting. Strain plays a huge role as well. How are you venting? Through the house ducting, into a wall or out the window? Just realize that the exhaust from a HID grow looks like a jet engine exhaust to a thermal camera. I tend to look at the situation as, They know(or will find out) youre growing, but do they really care? They need a warrant to use their 200K IR cameras, but do you really think they hesitate to flip it on when theyre cruising around at night? I personally wouldnt even be slightly tripping on the setup you described however.

I have a clean conscience about what I'm doing so I'm not paranoid about anything except getting sick without my meds. I'm not in a medical state unfortunately and cannot move to one, but I'm not hurting anyone or doing anything that will. I'm not selling what I grow and without it I will end up in the hospital all the time so I couldn't give a shit less about no damn cops. What I'm doing is none of their business, and I'm discreet as possible. If I get busted that's just what happens, I'm not making myself sicker worrying about it. Just my opinion. Peace out.

Gotta pay the cost to be the boss player! Ya that 5x5 takes a good chunk of floor space, but I'm sure you measured your plot before hand so that wasn't much of a problem. You may have to upgrade your carbon filter and exhaust, but when you get the smell under control what exactly are you tripping about?

Are you worried about your house guests wondering what the hell that 5x5 tent is doing in your living room? No? You've got it planned better than that right? You say you've done it before, and with similar wattage so it's not like your tripping about your power pull, so did you move or what is the wild card that's got your undergarments tangled?

Thanks for all your input. Vented to my attic with filter. I burn wood and live in the sticks. I really don't understand what changed for me as I am clearly more secure now. But my heart starts tripping a little every time I go in there. Gotta pay to play maybe lol. And yeah in this state I don't think we are going legal any time soon. (Wisconsin)

Was just in Wisconsin over the weekend. We stayed in Wyalusen State Park right on the Mississippi. If you're out in the stick out there...you should be pretty secure. From what I saw...the "sticks" are pretty thick out that way.

yea I agree, I also accepted the risk, I know it, and I will take the punishment if I get court (400$ for less then 10 plant, first time) do some research and see what is common in your state/country, I can live with a fine and a warning as a first time personal user/grower

but you can still be curious, no need to tell every body (use RIU ) and be careful with garbages, use common sense

and as somebody already did mention, I would use the 10-20$ on some ona gel, to get some peace of mind




a air cleaner with a active carbon filter (100$ and up) can clear any remanning odor from your ventilation/filter or any leaks, and will also give you better indoor environment



and if you really want to be sure, a Ozone generator is the way to go (+200$)

I thought Madison was super weed friendly? I had some buddies who went to college there and the few times I made it that way they always had some surprisingly great bud. I even remember going to a pot fest back in the 90's right by the state capital and just figured the whole state was cool like that.

Madison is very different then the Northern half the state. Posession is decriminalized there. I saw a guy get 3 years for posession here. Not his first offense but still..
