8 ft ceilings, gavitas and big plants don't mix well.

Your gonna have to keep them short if you wanna grow with DE in that space. Which is the only HID I recommend at this point, other than CMH.

I'd put 9 1000 watt DE in that space if you can do smaller plants. Pretty much canopy space from wall to wall with small areas to walk through.

SE 1000s or DE 600s are an option if you wanna stay with bigger plants.

"Pretty much unlimited" and 25k are quite a bit different from each other... 25k is a budget grow in something this size. And LEDs are out of the question for That investment. Not that they are worth using anyways .. But 8 foot ceiling is going to fuck you if plant count is a factor . Are you trying to use th entire room as canopy or are you trying to have walk ways and work space?

Could you elaborate please. Does 600w have better penetration due being closer to plants?

It's the fact that those 1000w DE have to be kept so far away from the canopy. Minimum of 36 inch.

So because the ceiling is only 8 ft high got to keep the bottom of reflector 36 inches from canopy. You only have 4.5 feet of space for plants. No room for flood trays or dwc buckets. Might be able to get away with drain to waste on the floor.

I choose DE 600s over SE 1000 because in my experience they perform so close to each other there isn't a point to run the extra watts. The SE 1000 will have slightly more penetration than a DE 600. But not enough to warrant the extra power.

DE is the most effecient hid on the market (maybe the 315cmh but anyways) to get SE would be like buying outdated computers.

I'm about to be finished with my run and I really don't see a big yield difference in the DE compared to SE. I am surprised

I hate those Phillips bulbs. The spectrum sucks ass IMO. Solis tek bulbs for the win.
