if it already has balls its a male. If it has pistils and balls its already a herm. If its not incredibly herming on you it is possible to trim out all the pollen sacks but if you have other female plants in the area it is worth it to just get rid of it. Unless you want a shit load of seeds.

I just wanted to add to the don't use aluminum foil argument by saying it doesn't even help, it causes light to hit it at oblique angles and basically doesn't even reflect it back on your plants.

After being busted a few times going and getting smoke I've decided to grow my own for personal use.

I was looking at the lowryder #2 and I basically want to get a crop up and running asap

I did have a few questions though which i'm hoping you lovely people could help me answer.

1) I live in a tiny upstairs flat I got a grow spot all lined up but how much does this all smell, will it be noticeable to my neighbours?

2) Whats the best lighting to use, Im thinking led lights?

3) For a first time inexperienced grower how much roughly could I yield?

4) How potent is it to smoke compared to your run of the mill street stuff?

5) If i buy feminized seeds, does that mean my plants will all be female?

6) I'm pretty good at following instructions but how easy is it to grow?

7) Whats the best small scale setup that doesnt produce alot of heat?

I ask the last one because i've seen growers before who have like a wardrobe lined in aluminium tin foil with big buld floating above, I don't want a massive setup just something about a foot maybe a foot and a half high.

Thanks guys
I've just finished an autoflower grow - Greenomatics. They finished in 65 days from planting the seed. The smoke is potent, the high is delicious. Yield was ok but not great. If you are growing to sell then this is probably not the best choice but for personal use it's no problem. I am growing them again.

Autos are a new thing, many of the strains out there are not stable so check out the strain carefully. I have one 'auto' that wouldn't flower until I put her under 12/12.

Fem seeds means fem plants.

You can't clone autos.

Auto seedlings are very fragile.

The plants stay very small until stretch when they explode.

The roots are delicate. They like airy light soil and do best when started in their final pot.

They use the same light as any other MJ plant.

Tin foil is useless in a grow room imo too, mylar or white paint. Peace
