New to Growing Need help please!

I am new to growing and I basically need help to start, Im not looking to spend a bunch of money on this. This is something new im trying if I like it I will continue with it, but anyway can somebody help me by telling me how to prepare ordinary old soil for the seeds thanks.

um like soil from your property? What kind of soil are we preparing? clay or nice rich soil that just needs
pearlite?

Yes soil from my property not clay, If regular old soil is not a good idea then can you point me in a direction of some cheap soil I can get. but if the regular soil works that would be best.

Well I personally believe that if you have a good soil source why pay for it?
for example.. I have huge pines behind my house & the soil under those things is amazing.
I just add i lil garden lime, worms, worm castings and about a cup of pearlite per/sqft of soil.
in a gallon pot I use about 1.5 cups. You want to roots to be able to grow & expand real easy.

Yeah walmart home depot scotts soil is really good if your looking to purchase cheap soil
