New to site, also still a n00b to growing...need help with what supplies I should use

as many as you have space for. <g> it depends on too many things as to the amount you harvest. something really nobody knows till it has been done a time or two. sorry

im trying to walk away with atleast 10 ounces dry

well you have 9 sq.ft. and if you get an average of 2ozs. per plants (conserdive guessing) that would mean 5 plants. But the more light they get the more buds you will have at harvest.

im gonna keep them short and go with germing 3 and cloning to get up to 6plants and veg til theyre 1ft tall and then switch over to 12 12 for 8weeks

Sounds good to me, but look at them at 8 weeks you may decide to go for the 12 weeks. Which is "probaly" the time the breeder says but look at the add it should say the time period it takes to buddin.
But it's your grow you make the decisions.

i would buy them but i dont have the money to dish out on lights since i lost my job,maybe after this grow ill sell an ounce of it to get new supplies for my next batch

Well do what I did, sell my indoor crop to purchase more and better equipment, better known as re-investing in the future!
But keep an eye out on htgsupply.com for deals

im also going to sell crop to put away a few grand in the bank for future vacations

and one for just for the fun of spending money, and one to pay the bills, and one for....yea I know tell it to someone who might beleive that...

no im dead serious, im only selling one batch to three different friends

ok that's nice.<g> I really couldn't care less, besides why should I care that is how I pay my bills and live by. If you grew a ton a week and sold every bud possible it still would NOT hurt me any. So grow all you can we need it.

damn, you make that much selling bud you live off it and pay bills? i can see that happening tho, i'd love to fundraise enough to get a motorcycle againalso, where can i get those fixtures that hold 4 cfls and theres one plug for the 4 of them?

you are better off making your own fixtures, that way you can position them as you see fit, pre-made things will only allow you to put the lights where THEY want you to put them. One can NOT match inside amounts grown to outside amounts grown (you will NEVER grow 1 plant indoors and match what I can do with 1 plant outdoors, when you average over 1 pound per plant indoors let me know) and it helps to not have to pay rent, all my stuff is paid for and I live on a big farm owned by my family so that help too.
You can get a simple plastic old-type pull-string fixture mount it to a piece of wood drill a hole in the back of the wood for the electric wire and mount it to the wall of the closet, you can do this all the way up the side and mount as many lights as you can this way as long as it doesn't over load anything electrical you will be safe, but you WILL have to keep a eye on the heat regardless if you use CFLs or not.

Remember this: Slow and steady wins the race, little bit along will get you what you need and you don't have to be in a hurry or get big to get what you want all you need is patience. Also it's safer to take your time with this too.

small update, my seeds now have been passed from royal mail over to the overseas postal service for delivery here in the states.

is it possible to get ATLEAST 10 ounces from 8plants using 10 cfl's....10 6500k 23watt for vegging and 10 2700 23watt for flowering?just smoked one and had this weird question pop up in my imagination, lol

Well I grew a little silver haze this past winter and 2 plants made it to buddin (I only planted 5 seeds), well anyway when I harvested after 3 months of buds I sold 1/4LB and I think I smoke around a oz to myself from the trimming of lower budds during/right before harvest and what was left over from the 1/4LB.
All under CFLs.

Short answer: Yes.

Just make sure you keep the lights as close to the buds as possible for best results, if the tip of some buds are higher than the blub but the majority of the buds are the right height not to worry the CFLs put out light from all sides and since you have some bulbs to hang from the side that will help also for the lower buds but you will get most of the weight from the colas and you really need alot of light at the top for best results.
Sell what you grow the first go around and buy the lights like I told you too, you will be happier with those results and just keep the cfls for veggin/cloning. It's for the best.

sweet,cant wait to see my seeds and germ them, i was gonna do the paper towel method, is there a better one you would suggest?...i would love 10oz so i can save about 4,000 in the bank then with another 1,000 go and buy hps lights and mylar and all the right stuff including fox farm nutes and what not.....i know i sound like a broken record but im sorry....im cleaning out my closet tonight and tomorrow and im making a ground level for a few plants as well as a second shelf to grow more plants and then a third shelf for the clones..will post pics tomorrow sometime after i finish turning the closet into a " bank "

paper towel sounds fine with me unless you have a seed tray with pellets and a heat pad for it. <g> Listen my 2 inside were around 3 ft tall so don't judge what you get by what I did and mine was a satvia strain. Don't go and spend alot of money on nutrients, only thing I would be concerned with is the blooming part, most of the veggin nutrients are not all that different biggest difference is hormones and vitiams and some different baterica. Add those things and you have made just as good as they make, it's really not that hard
