New to vaping questions

This may not be quite a newb set of questions, more of a nerd set of questions, but this seemed like the best part of the forum to ask.

- I regularly use my vaporiser (Storz and Bickel, Plenty vape) and I'm a convert, it was worth the extra money compared to the rubbish I had used before.

It has a variety if heat settings, so you can choose how hot you want the bowl. I always use the highest setting as it gives the most "smoke" when taking it back, but I've recently been reading about the different combustion levels of the different cannaboids in cannabis. THC for example comes alive around 140c I think.

Does that mean that in theory, I could change the effect my vape gives me? I've tried on different settings and didn't really notice a difference other than less vapour coming out my mouth. Could this explain why my vape always sends me to sleep, is it because I'm doing it at over 200c and the CBD is coming alive and knocking me out, so if I vaped at 150c, I would only activate the THC and not the THC, which would be more suibtable for day time use.

- the second nerdy question is again on vaping. It annoys me a bit that I can vape my nicotine in a small, cheap cigarette looking device. (I use blu CIG) Yet to get a good vape with my weed I need this huge bit of kit that cost a fortune and is not very discrete.

Is it possible to make a THC style e-cig liquid?

I make cannabutter regularly, so I'm aware of the science of extraction, but not sure how to get it into something that could work in something designed for nicotine, especially considering the different burning points of the two different products.

I've experimented with my vape, and I couldn't much tell the difference between the higher heat settings and the low ones. I prefer the higher heat settings though. You're just going to have to experiment for yourself to find out if there's any noticeable difference, and different strains may have different results depending on the heat setting.

As far as THC "pens", there's actually a few on the market right now. Hell, I saw Snoop Dogg marketing one with his name on it...

May your harvests be huge, healthy, and sooner than you expect.

Vape temps are arbitrary. THC will become available at a relativity low temp, around 250 F. At that temp, it is only vapor from the bud. Higher temps, you are burning the leaf.

My experience only... no vape pens that take herb work with a damn. And I haven't been impressed with straight wax, hash, etc just being heated.

Looking on here, you can find how to make hash oil in a variety of ways. Mixing that with propylene glycol (be sure it is USP) makes a wonderful vape juice for ecigs.

You need to invest about $30-50 in battery and tanks. But outside of weed, with nic juice they work way better than Blu. I used Blu for about two years and it never had me satisfied. Worked to cut down but not quit. Moved to these and I have not had a cig in about 4 months with no struggle.

Take a look into what they call "mods". They aren't the commercial e-cigs like Blu - typically a bit larger and less cigarette looking with all kinds of varying options etc..people make their own oils for these all the time (for nicotine primarily from what I've seen, varying flavors, etc) so I'd assume you could pull it off with a THC oil and tweak the temp till it's almost perfection.

This is not the greatest source (just did a quick google search) but it explains it pretty well:

So I could make some THC oil, then mix with something like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005PZBRUC?pc_redir=1401237732&robot_redir=1

And then put it in a cartomiser made for nicotine and it would work?

The only reason I like the blu cigs is because they feel like real cigarettes. I always feel like I'm using some fancy crack pipe toking on some of those liquid pipes!
I'm not 100% sure how you'd go about it - honestly my mom is heavy into this stuff since she quit smoking cigarettes, only reason I know about it - but I believe with a little research you could be well on your way to puffing thick clouds of vapor from your own custom cannabanoid oils...hope it works out, and def would love to hear what you end up doing.

Yes, that PG will work. Basically make some ISO oil, mix under some heat with PG, and put in the cartomizer same as nic juice. I eyeball mine approx. 3:1 PG to oil. i have seen others use more oil.

the atomizers don't as long as with e-juice. But they are only a few bucks to replace.

I would say every hit of mine equals about half a pipe hit so far as potency is concerned. It also takes a minute or two to hit, not immediate like toking.

I was at happy hour last week, sitting at a table with a few friends and a couple strangers. One bud and I were hitting it when we discovered one person at the table was a cop. Dude had no idea were partaking. Though I did switch tanks to nic juice at that point :-)
