How will this be done?

Will Police blow bad people until they succumb (hey! that was a double entendre...if you think about it) to the non gun toting Police "handling" of crimes?

What if the bad guys are threatening to use a lead filled dildo in a violent way and simply don't go along with the Police non gun oral persuasion ?

I think @Roger A. Shrubber would be okay with people owning lead filled dildoes, but he'd probably say none can be over 12", because nobody needs one bigger than that. He's big on compromise.
Look, you will not need the police when you eradicate injustice and inequality. I think this communication problem comes from you thinking that the guns can be banned in this capitalist paradise. No. It should happen to some extend and we should work for it. Start from somewhere and take the guns out of the hands of the criminals and civilians to a great extend but armies and police forces will be a thing until we become educated and truly civil people who will not need a state and its apparatuses to regulate our lives.

i'm not against controlling guns. i'm not telling you they don't make it easier for this shit to happen...
you seem to be telling me that it will stop if we take away guns, and i think you are dead wrong, no pun intended....
i don't even think it will slow things down significantly...because the problem is not the availanility of weapons, it's the desire to commit the acts to begin with...that is the problem, that is the issue, that is what has to be addressed...until you fix that..the weapon at hand will suffice.

no, he would have had to use multiple weapons, probably would have set the place on fire, had some explosives...we are talking about a killer, they would use the means available at the time....
yes, a gun made it easier, but never underestimate the tenacity of human beings....we've had a long time to perfect killing each other....

they killed 3000 and wounded another 6000 at the world trade center without firing one shot
So you agree about guns making shit easier. Yeah fucked up people will use anything to their benefit but this is such an easy choice to ban weapons. Just ban it and let that fucker try to kill those innocent people with a bow and arrow. I’m not saying people will not commit crimes in the absence of guns. I’m saying it makes it much more easier and this is why you and any other gun owner doesn’t feel safe in their community. The threat of violence.

So if you are a pacifist how do you propose anybody "take" anything away from a person who won't give it up?

ok...so how do we go about that?
sincerely, not being a duchebag...how? how do you make people become civil? how do you make people negotiate, instead of fist fight? cause i really don't know how...i've tried, sometimes had momentary success, but the minute you turn your back, the monkeys start flinging poo again...then fists...
when you're teaching a class, you can put the small kids with the small kids, the bully with the bigger kid...you can compensate for their bullshit...that doesn't work outside a gym, though...

how do you make people become civil?

We have laws in place that define inappropriate behavior. The problem of modern day enforcement is that it doesn't apply to the internet in full and those aspects that do are not being enforced.

That's what has made the incivility grow: it festers unchecked on the internet and gets acted upon in public.

The only way to combat that is to apply and actively enforce the same laws on the internet that we do in public.

I'm not from the US. And have nothing against the US. But from dandyrandys post, and correct me if I'm wrong here, But does that show the mentality of the US society? A little undevided? Maybe that's where things need to start? Everyone seems a little paranoid about their fellow countryman. "What if a civil war breaks out?" "We need to defend ourselves against OUR government if the time arises?" "If I'm carrying a gun then that guy will be less likely to shoot at me cause i can shoot back"
That post was shared from a republican congressman from Iowa...

couldn't hurt...
but i live in Tn....you can buy a weapon from a private individual here, any time you want, with no background check...
you can go to a gun show, stay away from the gunshop's booths, and walk out with a wheelbarrow of guns, and ammo, with no background check at all....
https://www.csgv.org/issues-archive/gun-show-loophole-faq/

and there are 33 other states that have similar laws....
so online shit has to change, but it's far from the sole problem...

Definitely, i’m not disputing this. But i really cannot give an answer to this question because the answer is just too long. Take a look into anarcho-communism if you want to know what i think the answer is and you’ll pretty much see. Its really impossible to answer this in a thread on a cannabis site. But i believe every dream will become reality in time and we should start by electing good people who will spend the most on education not guns.

you have an assault shovel? is it a full auto assault shovel? sawed off handle? high capacity magazine?
did you get the shovel silencer? or the bump handle?
My personal shovel is compliant, but should a ban put a 10k price on its head it's readily convertible. Full auto would be preferable to keep the original stock aesthetics.

My wife came up with this funny comment after I described an earlier post stating that I like guns, love to hunt and shoot things (EVERY animal I have killed, I killed it to eat, and did)

I take responsibility for my carnivorous nature, (just think about that next time you go to McDonalds).

Anyway, this is what she said (one of the reasons I love her, she's so witty)

"I don't believe in guns, I'd rather choke the bitch with my bare hands"

I'm going to create a bumper sticker online, seriously.

Anyone want, PM me and we'll make it work

It's not necessary to take all guns away from people in the US. There is a large and avid hunting community for example. At farms and ranches in very remote areas, people use guns to control predator and pest populations (coyotes, for example). Also because they live at the end of a remote country road where there are no law officials within reasonable response time they have them for self defense.

Canadians have adequate gun laws that enable people with a legitimate reason for owning a gun to do so without flooding the country with mass killing machines like the AR-15 and hand guns. It doesn't sound like New Zealand is contemplating a full on gun ban but probably will tighten restrictions on military-style weapons of mass murder.

@Roger A. Shrubber , there is no way that one person with a knife could have killed 50 people and put another 50 in the hospital in his 10 minute murder spree. Also the Las Vegas killer would have had a hard time hurting anybody from his window in that hotel. Regulating guns isn't an answer to mankind's propensity to kill each other but it sure does cut down the number at risk. Also, using a knife is not simply a matter of walking into a room and opening fire like the mass murderers with their semi-automatic rifles do.

That said, the times that a determined murderer used a car or truck shows that you are right in that mass killings won't end with gun regulations. I just want to see the US gun homicide rate approach that of other developed countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Britain. I think that is the objective gun regulations, not ending all mass murder although I wouldn't oppose that.
