Newb grow 1000w 4x4 flowering area tight budget max yield

Hey guys.
I just wanted to hear what the experts have to say.
I have been doing alot of research but i need some ideas for my grow space.
Here are the ideas i have so far,
Either use 1 section for Flowering 1 for Vegging,
Use the whole section for Flowering and buy a grow tent with 400 MH for Vegging.
or split in 2 equal sections.

**Scroll down for Updates!**

my budget is £600 ($900) but may be able to get a little more before flowering cycle.
I am going for MAX yield, so maybe SoG style but i dont know what is best for my conditions (space, budget etc).

Here are some Pics :leaf::leaf::leaf: Quality suxx abit :leaf::leaf::leaf:

yes, I would get the grow tent for a separate vegging room. you will not be able to veg and flower in a 4x4 closet. if this is your first grow, ill warn you: heat will be an issue. 1400w of lights will put out ALOT of heat. you can either: get a portable/window AC unit or get a cooltube/inline fan combo and exhaust the hot air outside somehow.

small grow tent off ebay: $120
1000w hps w/air cooled hood (also off ebay): $300
400w MH: ~$150
inline fan + carbon filter: $200
nutes/soil/supplies: $150
total so far: $920 with a fairly rough estimate.

Dude, look up "ScrOG" or "screen of green" on Google and here.

I'm totally fuckin new and am putting together my first grow room, but during the process I came across that info which looks like it yields max chronic in minimal space.

Check out LED grow lights, they are what I'm going with. The UFO LED grow lamp is apparently VERY good (check it out on youtube). If you don't go LED, go CFL... HID would be a massive mistake in that small of an area (HEAT!!!).

Here's a link for the UFO LED for only $120 (usually $200) with free shipping: http://www.thegreenleaf.biz/ (it's a sale, so sorry to post a time-limited link to all you FuturePeople who click it. Try not to sob over your soilent green.)

Sounds good. i also forgot to mention that the major part is 4Lx4Wx6H and the other part is slightly smaller 4ft Length x 1ft 9 Width x 4ft height.

Problem now is that i have no system for my plants, so far i have only been researching Hydroponics and was gearing towards that. My reasons being (as i heard) Faster Overall growing speed + Spend less time maintaining.

i still do of course know a little bit about growing in soil, maybe not as much as i should. But i recently have been considering it as a possibility.
On average how often would i have to be checking up, maintaining the water levels, nutrient ppm, ph etc on a soil based grow.
i suppose i could invest on my 2nd grow for hydro.

Any kind of big bud strain would be good. Attitude seed bank has a great selection and has guaranteed worldwide shipping. I got my seeds in 6 days from them with no issues. Plus they throw in sweet freebies. I'm growing some Pineapple Express from g13 labs that is doing great indoors and I heard it has a great yield. But yeah check out attitude seeds you'll find what you're looking for.

so how do you all think i should manage my Odour problems and Temperature.
i know that the ceiling of the inside goes directly into the loft.
how much would i have to spend u think to keep my temperature to 75-85.

is an aircooled hood + inline fan enough to keep my temps right?
also how much does it cost for the ducting and fans for aircooled hoods?

and finally whats a decent price (uk prefered) for an aircooled hood with ballast and bulb 1000W.

***Edit:

Progress so far:
- Instead of Splitting the area in two, going to use Whole area as flower and purchase a grow tent for Vegging.

is an aircooling system neccessary now? considering the size of the flowering room as on the pics.
would i be ok with a nice extraction fan maybe blowing air out the ceiling into the loft through a carbon filter or something like that.
how do you guys think it would work out in cost and effect?

and also, if there is aircooled hps wont that require the inline fan ducted from cool air 1 side of my loft, and blow the hot air to the other side of my loft + seperate fans and exhaust fans or w/e blowing the odour through my carbon filter into another differnt duct into my loft?

or have i got this part wrong?

heres how the layout should work for your flower room:

Carbon filter (ducting(((() air-cooled hood (more ducting((((() exhaust fan PULLING air through the carbon filter/air-cooled hood, and pushing it out the exhaust vent of your grow tent. however, this only moves the hot air from the grow tent/closet to the rest of your room. also note that heat is not be removed, its only being re-directed. you would need to either direct the air outside, or get a portable AC to cool the hot air.

for odor issues, you can look at some of the DIY carbon scrubber tutorials on this board. save yourself $50

growing requires a significant start-up investment (unless you go the CFL route)
oh and a decent price for a 1000w system, I would say ~$350, but thats more of an estimate since I dont live in the UK

good luck, and keep us posted

just to clear things up, im not having anything other than what i basically need in the Veg room, which is going to be a tent in a differnt location to the flower room.
Which, as seen on the pics is in a wardrobe.
and todo with the carbon filter,
does the carbon filter itself suck air through the far side ->((((() through the filter itself THEN through the aircooled HPS out to a vent in my loft?
if so, where does the cool air from to keep the 1000W cool.
Another few silly questions also.
How can you know if your ventillation isnt inadequate and your bulb doesnt get cooled properly and explodes or w/e may happen to it :P (Before i buy)
And How can i be sure that the carbon filter wont only Semi get rid of the smell, Say if it cant handle clearing it up?

Id rather ask than not know :P

I didn't max out my closet, but I'm running a small/Legal system in my Closet as we speak. I have enough room for a 2' x 2' x 5' grow tent with a 250HPS system. Currently have 6 - 2' plants blooming an other 3 in veg above the tent. Ill throw some pictures in to make sense of whats going on.

-------> Pictures are from a month ago when i first set it up. So far so good. Live near the beach and haven't had much to worry about heat.
Also, i veg on my balcony, so i do not have to run the CFL's right now (which is pretty bomb if you ask me :))

This is just food for thought, not try to feed you any information that you don't need. You can do a lot with the space you're working with!
Kill it braa!

Now that im using my whole wardrobe area to flower in,
what containers and sizes should i grow in and how long should i veg under my 400w mh before i go 12 12
i would like to get as much bud as possible in my area. but with my current budget

I suggest going and reading peoples grow journals. many successful 400w grows have been done. Its easy to mimic their recipe for success. dont be afraid to use the search function of the forum.
if this is your first grow, I would advise you to be conservative and safe. the first grow is always a learning experience more than anything. document what works for you and what doesnt.

quick clarification: a carbon filter doesnt suck anything. its just a filter for air to pass through while removing all odor particles from that air. the inline fan is the one pulling the air through the carbon filter.
I recommend at least a 300+ CFM inline fan for a 1000w light.
get 3 gallon pots and veg them till theyre about a foot tall. this is a very rough estimate, as all plants are different.
as for knowing whether or not the carbon filter can completely eliminate the smell in your room, that depends on how quickly you are circulating the air in your grow room through the carbon filter, which is dependent on your inline fan, and its rated CFM. again, do a little research to figure this out.
