ok so my buddy bought 2 plants from someone he kinda knows.

the 2 plants were said to be a sour diesel X something

my friend also planted 2 seeds from some shwag about the same time he got the 2 'diesel' plants.

So i was looking at his plants the other day and they all look the same.

They just left veg and went to flowering a day ago.

But... he and i are wondering if different strains looks pretty similar during veg?

I figure later on in flowering you probably can tell if they are the same strain a lot better.

The kid he got the 2 'diesel' from we dont know if we can trust him or not really. BUT there is diffenitely a pungent odor during veg. not amazingly strong, but strong enough that when you enter his room... you know whats in his closet lol.

thanks for any help :peace:

I've never seen a diesel plant... but I can telly you that you really aren't gonna be able to tell the difference between two vegging plants usually. There are SOME factors that make 1 plant look different to another. One thing is the difference between Sativas and Indicas. Another difference you may see is if a plant is a purple strain or some other type of uniquely colored plant. You'll have to wait until flowering to see color differences. Sometimes the SMELL is different from 1 strain to another. For example, citrus strains will clearly smell different than non-citrus strains. Bottom line, most plants look alike during veg.

thanks for replying. i was hoping that was the case. it would be nice if the kid was being honest with us. but the kid got kicked out of his last apt, which was how my friend knew him, so we were thinking he coulda just been full of shit and just scamming us.

i guess we should know in a few weeks when the the buds come.
