Hello-
I am brand new to the forums and this is my first grow. I live in Texas. I started with ambitions of doing an all outdoor grow but quickly learned the TX sun and heat don’t really allow for that. The pics below are at 9 days. Will be moving them to 7 gal fabric pots in a 2x4 tent w/LED’s once everything else gets here next week. They are planted in Kellog’s Premium. Started with 5 but the sun cooked one. The one with the wilted up leaf got knocked over. Have some Dr Earth Veg and Flower girl as well as Blood Meal but haven’t started any of those yet. Any feedback or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and gals! 861816EC-0B81-43AD-968B-1ACED2707600.jpeg

Weed loves sun and heat. Seedlings can have rough starts. But if it can grow in Mexico, why couldnt you do it in Texas?

Man I don’t know, like I said I’m a newb. We have had multiple days in the high 80’s and 90’s and we’re just getting started down here. Everything I’ve read says it needs to be in the mid 70’s ideally to avoid over heating. Idk though.

Theres plenty of info out there.
The 110 degree days are not ideal. But it can be done and done pretty well.

Good to know. I think I might put the big one in a 15gal and put it outside. The other three might go in the tent. Based on the age and pics does it look like they’re doing ok so far?

I think it’s saying the size of the light it 2x2. The end of the title says it’s coverage for a 4x4 but I wanted to check with the experts first

You’re right! I totally overlooked that part. Well that answers my question. Any recommendations for a beginner on a budget?

Personally i just picked up a 315 cmh fixture and a 3x3 tent, realizing a 5x5 needs to have a little sister. Im sure the cheaper brands of reflectors/ballasts are fine, I just wanted to treat myself to something really nice. The philips bulb is highly recommended though.
