No. Being root bound is a problem. Transplant before it gets root bound, that's why we transplant.

Meh, I like it that way, less messy for me, if its root bound it tends to be easier for me.....you're right though its not ideal.....smart pots make a ton of roots.
 
and with the smart pots, will i just place the smaller one within the new bigger Smart Pot? Or do i transplant it like any other plastic container?

Only problem Ive ever had with smart pots indoors is humidity.....it was the rainy season though so maybe it would have been the same in plastic or buckets.....I like them though....used 3 gal indoors a few times and 400 gal outdoors a few times lol fuggin monsters.

Not really man I'm not a very technical grower....I do however foliar epsom salts at lights out once in a while prolly will tonight and sometimes spray plain water....I spray neem and have been looking into protekt lately thinking of adding some slilca to the equation see what happens heard good things about it.
