Newbie first grow. tips advice please

hi all first time grower here. I am growing two big bang 2's under 600w hps light it is about 2 foot 6inch away from tops of plant temp is a steady 80 and humidity only 20. the tips of some of the leaves are going slightly yellow they are about 3 weeks old but only been under light 10 days. how do they look and do u think i should start nutes soon. As a complete noob any advice is appreciated

look under the plant problems forum, you'll find what you need or in the search bar "yellowing leaves"

Well, since you haven't been adding nutes, this can't be nute toxicity.

I'm wondering if the soil you have them in is causing them problems. If not, I'm guessing that you need to add some nutes in order to make sure these plants keep growin. My guess is that this is what you need to do next.

Soil usually has about 4 wks of nutes, but your plants might be hungrier than others.

Add some nutes and see how things work out.

Of course, sometimes lower leaves might also just be dying off to give the upper leaves more energy. That happens too........

long ago, and your light should be closer too, like 14-16 inches max.

start with a low level of nutes, i use biobizz grow for veg and at the stage your at i personally go 2ml nute per litre of water. u cant really go wrong with that , each week i raise it 1ml until a max of 5ml and when i go into flower i do the same with my bio bloom, although i also continue with 2ml of biogrow all the way thru flower.i add epsom salt at day 11 and 35 of flower (around 1 gram per 5 litres but i'd check that ratio out), during the last 4 or 5 weeks flower i add mollasses( in the uk its called black treacle) i add around a large table spoon to a 10 litre bucket, i find it easier to fill a 10 litre bucket with my food/water mix and then use a 1litre measuring jug to feed my plants. hope that helps you mate

sounds and looks like an airflow/heat problem... i don't think it has anything to do with feeding

thanks for the advice people i will start nutes soon then and might lower the light. why do u think if these plants are both the same strain why do they look so different?

it cant be a airflow problem i have a fan blowing on them all light hours holes in the cupboard and a window open temp steady 80

what kind of soil are you using?

multi b&q no nutes going to get some bio bizz grow tommorrow hope it sorts it do u think it will? i think nitrogen is what they need what ya think

oh and any ideas on why they look so different
