Hey Guys,

This is my first time grow, and well I just wanted to post a couple of pics of my babies and see what you guys are thinking, the taller one is a random bit of bag seed i got.

The shorter is Double Gum white label from SensiSeeds in 'dam :) I'm using a rather small (ish) wooden box with 2 (upping to 3) PC Fans for ventilation. I was using a rather crappy Fluro tube light (one for reptiles my mate had lying around) untill i got an envirolite, my box is bigger by a bit than the PC grows i've seen using these lights so I figure i should be fine for 1 plant (all i really want, have 2 atm due to female / male unknowns :))

Check out the pics and let me know what you think of the plants! Oh yeah i'm using Miracle Gro (Moisture Control) with Pearlite mixed in, i knwo some of you will scream MG = Bad but i have to say it's given me no problems as yet and my plants seem to be doing ok!

They've been under the Fluro for about 1week (reason they are stretched) and the new CFL for 1 day (I can see the growth already with just 1 day of a good light lol)

I've had problems when i put the new light in of the temp increasing quite a bit so for now i've moved the plants down (Light is static, going to LST and such) Which is why i'll be adding a new fan in once thats done i'm hoping the temp will drop enough (fan will be placed near the light to keep it cool) i'll move the plants up a touch :)

try using CFL when growing young plants, I am using 55w of CFL and my plants are bushing like crazy and I haven't even toped any of my 5 girls and one of then has 30 or more branches forming all over it

Ok guys i was just wondering what you think this drooping of the leaves could be, it's not overwatering (or at least i dont think so as i watered them 2 days ago) I also can't really see it being the light not close enough (havent moved light or plant and it was fine - see before / after pics)

It's also just one plant that is dropping...

Pics: 1st pic is before (Leaves up to the light) 2nd pic is now (leaves drooping)

Well here are some updated pics the little plant hasn't done much in the past few daysa think he may turn out to be a runt lol.

Dropping leaves seem to have fixed them selves (havent watered for a few days) The bigger plant has bushed out quite a bit since the light swap and seems to be going strong :)

P.s. could a mod possibly move this thread to the CFL Forum section? :)

i would recommend ditching the mg and getting a soil with out any nutes in it or make your own. also are you using a fan? that will allow you to move you lights closer and help your stems get bigger.

I know most people disagree with MG But i'm giving it a go as i have seen excellent results with MG (Fletch) I currently have an 80mm PC Fan intake which is not really pumping in enough cool air for the outake fan (120mm) but it's getting replaced soon with a new 120mm fan for intake i may also add another one nearer the light to keep it cool allowing me to move the plants closer to the light (Light doesnt move it's static)

well if you can switch the soil when you repot, but i guess if your not having problems with the mg good luck. happy growing
