Newbie growing

Hey I've been growing my plant for couple weeks now. It's about 3 inches and is getting spots on the stems and leaves any idea?

We would really need a pic and more details to provide an accurate assessment.

Ouch, a couple weeks old and only 3 inches, sounds like you may have more than one issue, best to spill your guts so we can tell you what you are doing wrong.

Post a pic and give details on your grow - medium, feed, water schedule, ph, etc unless you want answers based on complete guesses.

Well i just started out and didn't have any of the required items recommended. I would like to just start over and have a list of items i will need. What kind of feeder etc. I'm using a sun system hps 150 any info would be great.

Tell us about your current grow, such as GrowinDad has described. There are just too many variables to elaborate on everything.

You say you didn't have the required items recommended, but yet have a 3 inch plant. Seems to me you do have the required items but are just not telling us about your operation....our patience is wearing thin

It's not letting me post a picture, but it's alright i see you need a picture and i can't come forth with one. If there's any bloomers or list of items i would need to start off from scratch let me know. What items did you have when you first started.

You may want to wait till it gets a bit taller to put it under the HPS, my understanding is they don't need a ton of light early on. a couple of CLF to start with. Wild guess

Are you wanting to start seeds or have you got a contact for cuttings?
With very young seedlings/cuttings flourescents are best (6400k - BLUE).

if you only have the 150 HPS to be going on with,
you need to have a good distance between the top of the plant and the light
It's too fierce to put close to youngsters.

WHAT SOIL or MEDIUM (COCO, CLAY PEBBLES) are they in?

LIGHT and MEDIUM are the TWO MOST IMPORTANT THINGS.

If you cannot upload a photo, try searching the www for a photo of a plant with a similar problem - and post that.

I will look for a picture now and the soil im using is happy frog. Also what can i use to feed the soil i have not done that once and I'm pretty sure thats why my progress is not so swell. And how far away does the light need to be from the top of the plant? All i have is the 150 hps.

HAPPY FROG
I'm in the UK and I grow in clay pebbles (hydro)
but, usually, bought soil has enough nutrients in it to ensure that the seedlings will be OK, without adding extra, for at least 2 or weeks.
ADDING EXTRA CAN DO MORE HARM THAN NOT HAVING ENOUGH
and it's the NUMBER ONE MISTAKE!
Everyone wants to start adding nutrients - doing nothing can often be the wisest move.

I'll start another thread to ask about HAPPY FROG nutrient levels for you.

150w HPS
At the moment I have 24 cuttings (taken yesterday) in a propagator,
under a 600w Metal Halide.
There is about 6ft between the light and the propagator.

It's far frm ideal but the Xmas post meant that the 200w CFL I ordered won't be here until 2nd or 3rd of Jan
and I couldn't wait any longer.

Hang the 150HPS about 4 to 5 ft above the canopy and see how they react.
Try to keep humidity up (but without steam cooking the plants).

And, this is important
TRY TO WORK OUT HOW TO UPLOAD PHOTOGRAPHS.

There's lots of experienced and helpful people on this site BUT not having a visual aid discourages most potential advisers.

Happy New Year
We'll find a way of making sure your little girls have a happy new year, also.

Thanks for the info all of you! When it is time to start adding nutrients, bloomers what should i use? And name brand reccomendations?

You can start using nutes in 3 to 4 weeks
Dr. Jekyll

My recommended brand names would be "Cannon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, Samsung" but any old camera that can take pictures would be worth while, as you are not going to get much usable advice without pic's and/or describing your grow.
Your 5 posts have really revealed dick all about your operation, so that's why you have only received general advise.
