Tap water is situational. There is no right or wrong answer until you know the total dissolved solids. TDS or PPM. My tap water is horrible for growing it's normally around 500 ppm.Over 700 is considered "Not safe to drink". You may live in a place where it comes straight from the spring. it is always better to use RO water then add things back into it.

Looking at those pics though I think it's bugs. 've never seen Calmag or PH eat a hole in the center of a leaf.

@Blue brother that was awesome a google search in the middle of the thread. aren't you glad you were just looking for slow cooker recipes?!? :bigjoint:

@Rossco P welcome to RIU you've got some great members here giving you some advice. keep us updated on how your grow turns out. congratulations on growing your own!
Many thanks for the reply, yeah that's what drew me to the site, decent posts and lots of info by growers. And what do you know, help from the get go! Hope all is well

My bad I mistook this box for search engine. Baked...

On a side note, scrap cannzyme and rhizotonic they're painfully inadequate. Replace with ewc tea. Get ur head around ur problem then research ewc tea
Haha u smokin the heavy! The rhizotonic is coming to the end of it's run next week so may aswell cut it short now. And I'm guessing a fell sucker to a decent sales pitch by canna, when reading the cannazyme info? It all sounds so helpful to the plant haha. Yeah thanks again hopefully this problem does get sorted... Ewc tea you say? Time to browse. Peace.

Just went in and checked, the water straight from cold tap read 220ppm. Funny you should mention the holes, I've noticed a few on some newer leaves inside the plant, and some of the older leaves have the odd slice in them. Haha I've been back and forward since it started... Bugs or burn bugs or burns, poor buggers. Can bugs cause deformed growth? Noticed the odd weird leaf here and there aswell. Here's an update on some mutation/ weird chewed up shiznit, holes and new patches. Other than that, they do seem fairly happy and are still growing. Am I over thinking it, or is this something that needs nipped in the...leaf. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Update on these as well, all five are showing female pre flowers :) even tho they were fem seeds, I got carried away reading a post about fem seeds and male pre flowers, ahh, so went on the hunt, haha.

@Blue brother. I forgot to mention I fed at half strength again tonight at ec 0.9, ph 5.8 and ppm 492. Runoff was ec 1.2, ph 6.0 ( changed from dark yellow to pale olive green on chart) and ppm 608. Does this mean I could drop the feed even more?

Could I have been that suckered into having a problem, that, I have over looked the possibility that I may have more than one problem, instead of bugs or burn. It may be a case of bugs 'AND' burn. Still don't wanna throw treatments at it, as mentioned above. Will continue with half feeds for the time being.

Yes for the minute, reason being is that if you've overfed then they will be temporarily locked.

So many people over feed. In drain to waste hydroponics there really is no need. I use 1ml/L of canna hydro a/b right up until the last 3 weeks of flower when they get some pk 13/14. When you're periodicaly supplying a fresh solution the plant takes all it needs from that solution just one time, meaning it's never wanting for a specific element that has been depleted in a recirculating solution.

There is one way to make absolute sure that you've sorted a def/tox. Flush until plants yellow right up and run off ec is equal to your tap water plus ph amendment. Then start building the feed back up day after day until they return to normal health.... Then stop! Don't be a sucker to the mute company's bro. I very much doubt ur plants need 2.3ml/l of base nutrients. Plus the other products ontop of that.

@Blue brother. Respect, and many thanks, defo a helpful hand whilst this is going on. N yeah I think you might be right about the lock out, cos since the last few days the bottom ( first true leaves) have since yellowed so i removed them to inspect for bugs but again nada. Could this cause new growth to be mutated and twisted, few more holes appearing aswell. Here's a leaf I removed that was yellowingimage.jpg

That could be due to insufficient light. I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts moving up the plant then it's n def.
