5 23 w cfls to veg 49 plants............dude ur on crack

12 42w cfl to flower 49 plants........now ur smoking more crack

maybe that was a little negitive......i just re-read ur post, and u just wanna harvest tops and pack gatorade bottles as close together as possible.....thats great an all, but i still dont think u have nearly enough light. you'll have to lollipop every plant but still the tops are gonna be way to close to each other in a 2x2 room . not to mention the fact those cfl's grow wispy bud, unless youve got an expert behind it. if u ask me you'd be doing yourself a favor gettting some small hps lamps..150whps?250?400? any1 of those will put a stomping on ur proposed lighting. sry for calling u a crack smoker

hmmmmmmmmmmm well im curious wut the other sog growers have to say about ur 49 4 in clones only getting 12 26w..or 42 w for that matter. maybe its fesible if u flipped them immediatly to bud, absolutely no lower branches just small eighth colas..i just dont see the cfl's bein enough, and 49 gatorade bottles packed ssooo tight together in those deminsions.. if u can that offf by all means do it, im jsut in serious doubt

i have a 400w hps but will that be too much a box that size?

ya u need more hieght than 3ft for sure....cant u modify something if you already have the lamp dude......its a no brainer. id rather hang the 400 somewhere u can, even 1 5ft plant under the 400 can throw off alllota nuggy

here are some pics of what the box is doing now but it is eventually going to be for all flowering once it gets perpetual. just letting plants grow while i get everything setup correctly. but i am still looking for opinions that can help me tweak my box to optimize its value.

Looks clean...the cfls are need to be within 1-3 in from the tops .

how often and what should i feed them?

cant tell if u got sprouts in those beer cups.......but the others that have a couple sets of leaves established , as long as ur not runnin say MG soil w/ nutes already in there. ... u should be feeding every other time with a nute/water mix... if ur going cheap go to walmart and pick up some tomatoe/vegtable fert..not sure wut the NPK ratio's gonna be. should be slightly higher in N.

everyother feed. make sure ur ph is in order cause if ur not monitering ur tap water u can lock out ur nutes. then nute uptake will be zelch with a high ph.....so make sure its in 6.5 range. then start feeding. im using mollassas in veg and flower..everyother watering too, 1tblspoon per gallon.

why don't you get the 300w e-2 there about $18.00 in ny, i've been trying out 3x in a box that's 1'6"d x 2'l x 3'h and got about 1 1/2z dry whith one plant but i add some of your 23w at the lower end the last 4weeks

You are going to need more light and more ventilation. 87 is too hot. Once the plants get too tall, the plants by the door are going to stunt because they are not going to get enough lite.

well all the plants will be rotated every so often as far as one plant getting more light than the other. with that said do you still think i should put more light in there? i am adding more ventilation as i get the money for it but for now the door is usually open when the light is on.
